PP: "The inability of the current local government will keep the public housing of the San Fernando neighborhood closed and empty for several more months" (27/02/2020)

"The mayor still does not offer real information on the subject, and now it turns out that they do not even have a draft of the specifications"

"We warn the mayor that he will not be able to unilaterally impose a list of conditions for the delivery of these flats, because he governs in a minority and has to negotiate"

The councilor of the Municipal Municipal Group in the City of Lorca, Mayte Martínez, has called on the current local government to unblock once the delivery of the houses that the Consistory owns in the new neighborhood of San Fernando.

It is not acceptable for the current mayor to accumulate 8 months with this issue stalled.

At this point, the requirements that families who want to opt for one of these homes have to meet are not even known, nor has it been clarified by the current local government whether these apartments are going to be sold or rented, or in what kind of regime will be delivered to interested families.

They have turned the illusion to recover the life of a neighborhood into a problem because of its total disinterest and still do not give it the importance it has.

They have to give this issue the attention it deserves and allocate the necessary municipal resources.

After so much time, it is obvious that they are already late.

The total misinformation that from PSOE and Citizens remains on this issue is generating great concern both in families that have shown us their interest in accessing one of these floors and in the owners who are already inhabiting the homes, which have transmitted to us his discomfort for how this management is developing and his misunderstanding about the delay that the City Council has been carrying.

We have been publicly warning for many months that the San Fernando neighborhood requires work and political interest from Mr. Mateos.

This situation has reached a turning point.

At this point, and with the time that they are making us lose all to their political ineffectiveness, they should at least have informed of the basic criteria that are going to be applied in this regard.

Those interested have transferred their discomfort and we agree with them that there are no real reasons for wasting time.

Neither the current mayor nor any of his councilors have clarified what is happening.

We are fully aware that these types of procedures require administrative work that has to be driven by policy makers, but it has been too long for them to try to remain hidden and give vague excuses.

We warn the current mayor that he will not be able to unilaterally impose a list of conditions for the delivery of these flats, because he governs in a minority and has to negotiate.

We already anticipate that as you intend to follow the same path as with the municipal budget or the budget modification, you will find the same result: you will not succeed.

As we have been denounced over the past few months, the current local government is blocked, and its lack of attention to people's problems is negatively affecting almost all relevant issues.

The delivery of the homes of San Fernando is one of them, and one more failure of an exhausted and failed government.

While in Lorca there are dozens of families with housing needs and interest in choosing one in this neighborhood, Mr. Mateos keeps all of San Fernando (a total of 59) closed and empty.

It is clear that the housing policy of this government does not shine either

The specifications are not, nor is there any real forecast of when they will be able to be.

With the elapsed time they should have transferred to the political groups at least one draft of the specifications that will be applicable, but they are still bogged down and without advancing anything.

Everything is stopped, as in many municipal areas.

We demand that you wake up at once, stop harming people who are interested and fulfill your obligation.

We have already told Mr Mateos many times that to govern is to make decisions and solve problems, but they continue to let time pass without solving anything.

It is unacceptable that the Municipal Housing Plan that San Fernando needs remains in neutral, preventing families from accessing municipal flats that still remain wasted.

We must remember that from the PP we demand that this plan include the opinion of the people who already reside in the neighborhood as "conditio sine qua non" at the time of writing, developing and delivering the homes to the families benefiting from the mentioned plan .

It is a measure of pure "common sense", since the main supporters of the reconstruction of the Neighborhood deserve that their voice have specific weight when establishing what is done with these properties.

What is clear is that the opportunity of rebirth that San Fernando has after the earthquakes is being truncated, repeating failures and erratic models from other times, and the importance that it should not be given to the opinion of the neighbors.

On the other hand, they also say nothing about families with recognized moral rights who are also calling us continuously to inform them of how this matter is.

We share your concern and demand that this government be aware of the serious damage it is causing these people.

The truth is that they are outraged because they have proven that the promises they made to them when they were in the opposition were false, and the frustration they generated is very strong.

Today their anxiety has worsened because they remain without answers or solutions, and are not willing to endure any more.

We, as we have done from the first moment, will always support you.
