Pilar Fernández and the women managers of neighborhood associations in the neighborhood and their surroundings, awards Trece Rosas 2020 (05/03/2020)

The association Thirteen Roses Lorca will celebrate tomorrow, March 6, the XVI edition of its awards for working women.

The event, which will take place at the IES Ramón Arcas Meca at 8.30 pm, will serve to make a public recognition of Pilar Fernández Alcaraz, president of the Federation of Women's Organizations of Lorca (individual prize) and women who are part of the Directors of neighborhood associations in the Barrio de San Cristóbal and its area of ​​influence (collective award).

The president of Trece Rosas Lorca, Isabel Quiñonero, has also announced that the event will feature a presentation by Loola Pérez, philosopher, sexologist, social integrator and author of 'Maldita feminista', a successful essay that invites you to review and discuss the Feminist movement, and which has just announced its second edition.

Pérez is also president of Young Women of the Region of Murcia, an entity that coordinates and teaches the co-educational project 'Ni tales with partridges or pink novels', awarded by the European University in 2018. Last year, the University of Murcia la recognized as one of the hundred most influential Murcia in our community.

Isabel Quiñonero recalled that, for sixteen years, the awards of the association Trece Rosas Lorca, recognize "women who work daily for Equality, and for making it extendible to their peers."

In that sense, he has highlighted the role of Pilar Fernández in front of "one of the most representative social movements of our municipality and which has 27 years of history."

For the jury of these awards, Fernández, Social Integrator and University Expert in Gender Equality for Cooperation and Development, stands out for his "critical spirit, his leadership, organization and work capacity".

"The passion with which she defends her convictions and our rights has made her an indisputable reference of the Lorca and Murcia society," Quiñonero said.

The jury will also recognize through its collective award the work done by the women who make up the directives of the neighborhood associations Rabaleros, Nueva Avenida Europa, Río, Ramblilla de Tejares or Apolonia.

In this regard, Quiñonero has extolled the "almost anonymous and invisible" work of these women who, through neighborhood movements, "have contributed with their commitment and commitment to improving people's lives, getting all kinds of equipment such as schools, parks or social centers for their neighborhoods. "

After the public event, and as is traditional, a wine from the land will be offered to conclude the evening.
