The City of Lorca receives the works of the collector that will connect the Saprelorca Polygon with the Rambla de Biznaga (10/03/2020)

This is the first section of this new sanitation network that will cover 150 Campillo homes and more than 450 inhabitants who can connect to more than 400 linear meters of pipes, with a regional investment of close to 2 million euros.

The mayor of Lorca, Diego José Mateos, and the Water Councilor of the Autonomous Community, Antonio Luengo, have signed, this morning, the reception of the works by the Consistory of the sanitation collector south of Lorca, low section, after the Completion of its construction.

The mayor of Lorca stressed that "this is good news for Lorca that this first section of the collector that will connect the Saprelorca Polygon with the Rambla de Biznaga and from there with the La Hoya Water Treatment Plant" has been completed.

Diego José Mateos has thanked "the investment of the Autonomous Community in these improvements that we receive today and whose management, from now on, will be borne by the mixed company Aguas de Lorca, in addition to its maintenance and connections with homes to said collector. "

Mateos Molina has insisted on the "full collaboration that we will offer from the City Council for the culmination of the two sections that are still pending that are very important. We have to aim for the total termination of the collector to provide, not only, with this basic service and essential in the XXI century, such as sanitation, but also to alleviate the collection of rainwater and not pour it to the Rambla Alta which is the area that then flows to Torrecilla and Campillo, one more step to prevent the arrival of water to such a sensitive area. "

The First Edil recalled that "the objective of this new infrastructure is to collect rainwater from the industrial estate that is also coming from rainy episodes due to its poor collection, part of the waters that flood fields and an important part of the districts of Torrecilla and Campillo.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Water and Agriculture, Antonio Luengo, explained that "this sanitation network will cover 150 Campillo homes and more than 450 inhabitants who will be able to connect to this network of more than 400 linear meters of pipes, with an investment close to 2 million euros and with the aim that all these Campillo homes can be connected to the Rambla de Biznaga armband ".

That second phase of construction of the two remaining sections, for which 7 million euros will be allocated, will allow all Saprelora industries and that all the inhabitants of those areas of the 9 kilometers that are planned to have that direct connection to the sanitation network, as well as stormwater.
