Lorca postpones all municipal events during the next 15 days as a measure of prevention of infections by Coronavirus (11/03/2020)

The mayor has announced the creation of a Monitoring Commission made up of representatives from the Occupational Health, Emergency and Health services to monitor the evolution of this virus daily.

The mayor of Lorca, Diego José Mateos, has chaired this morning a meeting held by the councilors of the Government Team, as well as those responsible for all municipal services with the aim of coordinating contagion prevention actions before the possible arrival of Coronavirus to the city.

Mateos has announced that "in the situation of alert by Coronavirus, the city of Lorca in a meeting held today with the heads of service of the different departments, has agreed to postpone the different events that were to be held in the coming days in the public spaces, both outdoors and in municipal infrastructures. This is a protocol whose period of postponement responds to the recommendations made by the Ministry of Health of the Government of the Region of Murcia. "

The mayor of Lorca has revealed that "during these weeks we have carried out several informative talks to municipal workers and they are also held with Associations of Fathers and Mothers, Women, Neighbors and Local Police. In addition, in the coming days we will keep various meetings both with the presidents of the Lorca's brotherhoods and with the representatives of the associative fabric of the municipality who planned to hold non-municipal events, such as, for example, the evaluation of the maintenance of the activities organized on the occasion of the festival of San José for its total coordination ".
