The mayor of Local Development and spokesperson for the Government team, Isabel Casalduero, insists that "once this situation is overcome, we will have to adopt the necessary measures for the recovery of employment in our city, a task that we will carry out in collaboration with the different administrations ".

The councilor for Employment and Local Development of the City of Lorca, Isabel Casalduero has assessed, this morning, unemployment data in the municipality of Lorca for the month of March published by the Regional Employment and Training Service (SEF).

The mayor of Employment has detailed that "the month of March closed with a total of 4,902 unemployed, 190 more than the month of February, which ended with 4,712 people registered in the office that the Regional Employment and Training Service (SEF) has in Lorca ".

Isabel Casalduero highlighted that "this increase in the number of the unemployed is in the general mood of the country due to the health situation in which we find ourselves and the closure of companies in almost all sectors due to the state of alarm due to the crisis in the coronavirus and also coinciding at a time of special rebound for employment in the service sector due to the activity generated by Easter which we will not be able to enjoy this year ".

Casalduero explained that "unemployment has risen in almost all sectors, being the most pressing in the growth of the Services sector in which 128 people have lost their jobs in the last month, also in Construction, in which 47 people signed up to the unemployment lists; followed by Agriculture, where it has increased by 10 people and in the group without previous activity where it has increased by 5 people; while the Industry sector remains with the same number of unemployed people from the previous month, registering 359 "

By age, the mayor of Local Development has reported that "this increase in unemployment has been noticeable in workers of all ages, but has been more important in the group of 25 to 44 years, in which a total of 100 people lost their job in the month of March, followed by those over 45, where 74 have done so, and finally those under 25, in which there has been an increase of 16 unemployed people.

The councilor has recognized that "these are data that we expected due to the situation in which we find ourselves in which only those shops or establishments of basic necessities are open, and they have had to close, among others, restaurants, cafes, bars, academies, fashion stores, jewelry stores, shoe stores for the measures applied with the aim of preventing the spread of the coronavirus, aware from the different administrations that right now the most important thing is the health of all citizens. "

Casalduero has insisted that "once this health situation is overcome, we will have to adopt all the necessary measures for the recovery of employment in our city, a work that we will carry out in collaboration with the different administrations, because this problem concerns and worries us everyone, and the solution will depend on everyone with tax measures and to promote hiring, among others.
