The mayor receives the forest brigades that carry out disinfection tasks in the city today (03/04/2020)

Specifically, 125 troops with 16 trucks, 5 rapid intervention vehicles and 5 motor pumps have traveled to Lorca and have located their base of operations in the Francisco Artés Carrasco Stadium car park.

The Mayor of Lorca, Diego José Mateos, together with the councilors for Emergencies and Sports, Isabel Casalduero and Irene Jódar, received this morning the members of the forest brigades of the Autonomous Community who will carry out disinfection during the day today. of common spaces in the urban area of ​​the city.

Mateos explained that "throughout the morning, the forest brigades of the General Directorate for the Environment will carry out the disinfection, thoroughly, by means of irrigation with disinfectant solution, of public spaces in the urban area."

The First Councilor has detailed that "in total, 125 troops have traveled to our municipality, as well as 16 trucks with a capacity of 4,000 liters, 5 800-liter rapid intervention vehicles and 5 motor pumps with a capacity of 400 liters to carry out these disinfection tasks ".

Mateos Molina has indicated that "the disinfection work has started at 8 am and will continue until 3 pm, with the parking lot of the Francisco Artés Carrasco Football Stadium being the infrastructure used as the base of operations."

The mayor of Lorca thanked "the collaboration of the forest brigades belonging to the General Directorate of the Environment in the tasks of disinfecting the busiest areas of our municipality with the aim of stopping the advance of the coronavirus."

Diego José Mateos recalled that "these works are joined by those that the City of Lorca is carrying out, both in the town center and by county councils and districts, through the municipal cleaning company, the staff of the Department of Parks and Gardens, the staff of Emergencies and Civil Protection and the invaluable collaboration of a multitude of farmers and ranchers who are altruistically contributing their machinery to collaborate in the disinfection of our streets and avoid infections by Covid-19 ".
