The mayor of Citizen Security, José Luis Ruiz Guillén explains that "once received, in real time, the images with the most influx of people, the patrols will travel to those locations to see if those people have justification for being on the street, or to proceed to the relevant sanctions "
The Councilor for Citizen Security of the City of Lorca, José Luis Ruiz Guillén has reported that the drone available will be used by the Local Police staff in order to verify that the rules established by reason of the decree of the alarm status.
The Councilor for Citizen Security has stressed that "the objective is that through this device images can be obtained of the areas where the greatest influx of people is occurring, despite the prohibition on going outside, if not for justified reasons, such as going to work, shopping, going to the doctor or attending to an elderly or dependent family member ".
In this way, the mayor explained, once these images have been received, which is done in real time, the police patrols will travel to these locations to check whether these people are justified in being on the street, or to proceed to the relevant penalties.
José Luis Ruiz Guillén has indicated that "within the staff we have several agents specialized in the management of these devices that we have decided to add now to the operations that we have already started up from the first moment in which the confinement was decreed."
The mayor of Citizen Security recalled that "the Local Police of Lorca incorporated in November last year, a second drone 'to its ranks', which, among others, is allowing the improvement of surveillance, the search for the disappeared, and the theft prevention or the location of possible perpetrators of fires, among others. "
Ruiz Guillén has reiterated the good result obtained on other occasions in which this device has been used, among which he has highlighted the images obtained after the September floods, which mainly affected the districts of Campillo and Purias, videos and photos of the flooded fields, which "served to collect data on the amount of water that DANA discharged during that weekend in our municipality."
It should be noted that there are other Bodies that are using these for the fight against the coronavirus, in the case of the Military Emergency Unit (UME), which are using them to disinfect streets, public places and closed spaces such as residences.
Lastly, the Councilor for Citizen Security has stressed that "although the level of compliance with the regulations established due to the state of alarm by the Lorca population is high, we cannot lower our guard in this regard to continue avoiding the spread of this virus it has already claimed the lives of many people. "
