The mayor of Lorca, Diego José Mateos, has taken stock, this morning, of the income recorded in the solidarity account set up by the City of Lorca, a few days ago, to channel all the aid that is being received at the Consistory and that is They are allocating to the purchase of all those necessary materials that serve to alleviate the effects of the health crisis that we are facing in recent weeks.
The mayor has pointed out that "thanks to these contributions that, from the first moment, neighbors, neighbors, individuals and companies are making, they are facing some of the needs that are emerging, such as the purchase, for example, of sanitary material, PPE , food for people in vulnerable situations, among others. "
Diego José Mateos has detailed that "regarding the income received, for the sake of transparency with which this solidarity initiative arose and with which we committed ourselves, since the launch last Thursday, March 26, contributions have been received for a value of 26,165 euros, of which 6,435 euros correspond to donations made by individuals, 13,730 euros from associations and groups and 6,000 euros to contributions from companies.A money to which must be added the 10,000 euros of the first contribution made to the account from the municipal council itself, reaching the total figure of 36,165 euros ".
To date, from the City Council 25,861 euros have been earmarked for health material "with which to cover the needs raised by health professionals from the whole of health area III, that is, Rafael Méndez Hospital, health centers and doctor's offices, as well as well as our nursing homes and care homes for people with disabilities, "explained the First mayor.
Specifically, to date the Lorca municipality has acquired a total of 9,600 masks, including FFP3, FFP2 and surgical masks.
