Due to the state of alarm as a consequence of the health crisis caused by the coronavirus, in this plenary session the councilors of the Corporation will participate through their computers from home.

The Councilor for Finance of the Lorca City Council, Isidro Abellán, has announced that this Wednesday, April 8, an extraordinary plenary session will be held for the extrajudicial recognition of invoices pending from previous years, worth 1,515,000 million euros "

Isidro Abellán has detailed that "tomorrow we will take the Plenary, through this mechanism that is the extrajudicial recognition for the payment of bills for which there is no adequate or sufficient credit, the approval of 528 bills from all sectors, with a total of 121 suppliers that, among others, provided a service or carried out work during previous years. "

The Councilor for Finance explained that "due to the coronavirus pandemic, this plenary session will not be held in the usual way, but that we have had to enable other mechanisms, in this case by electronic means, so that we can connect all the councilors of the Corporation, as well as the mayor and president of the Plenary and the rest of the participants from home ".

Abellán Chicano has acknowledged that "the objective is to be able to face all the invoices that are pending and that in two or three days those suppliers can receive the amounts that are still owed to them."

The mayor recalled that "since coming to the mayor of Lorca, economic management has been one of the plots in which we have had to solve the most difficulties. When we arrived at the Consistory we found ourselves with an almost exhausted budget in all items, for what we have had to be doing in front of basic services of the citizens with a money that we did not have ".

Abellán also made reference to the budget with which the City Council is managing this year "accounts that are not ours, since we did not receive the support of the opposition to carry out our budget project, even so we continue to operate without leaving to the neighbors who need it the most, making small budgetary modifications, such as the one that takes place tomorrow in plenary session. "

On the other hand, the mayor of the Treasury has referred to the celebration "on March 25 of an extraordinary Local Government Board in which an injection of liquidity was approved for the amount of 840,000 euros for the payment of 400 ordinary bills for all the professional sectors to more than 300 suppliers who work with the local administration and who received their money that same morning with the aim of helping them face with a little more tranquility this situation in which their economic activity has been interrupted or altered ".
