Commerce delivers protective visors to Lorca merchants directly in their establishments (09/04/2020)

This material has been made by 'Coronavirus Makers', a movement that emerged on social networks and that is manufactured in 3D printers from the homes of the collaborators, whom Morales has wanted to thank enormously "for their altruism and solidarity."

The deputy mayor and councilor for Commerce, Francisco Morales, and the councilor for Equality, Antonia Pérez, are developing a task of distributing protective visors to merchants in our municipality, a direct distribution to establishments in order to increase protection measures against the coronavirus.

The protective screens have been made by 'Coronavirus Makers', a movement that arises and is organized through social networks to manufacture sanitary equipment from 3D printers in their own homes.

The mayor of Equality has explained that "it is an initiative that arises at the national level due to the lack of sanitary equipment to deal with Covid19, a group of people joined spontaneously and coordinated through instant messaging platforms. Their objective is to create prototypes for 3D printers, making these resources available quickly and cheaply to protect both health workers and workers most exposed to the coronavirus. Territorially, they have organized to distribute them using the Health Areas divisions. "

Francisco Morales has reported that, in total, this movement has delivered nearly 2,000 visors in the Lorca area, so far, among health workers from Area III of health, Civil Protection and Emergencies, associations, nursing homes, and Services Social.

"The distribution of these visors began among health professionals and care and emergency personnel, and we wanted to channel it also to the second most affected group, such as commerce and professionals who continue to open their sales businesses to the public. From this We have wanted to approach them personally, a fact that they have appreciated, "Morales said.

"We have, thanks to the generosity and altruism of this group, 900 visors to distribute among the merchants of Lorca who have had to keep their establishments open as they are essential services. From the Lorca City Council we want to guarantee as much as possible the protection of the workers most exposed to contagion of the coronavirus to prevent its spread, and for this we have worked in coordination with the different associations and commercial organizations in our municipality, "states the Councilor for Commerce.

The distribution is being carried out together with the group of municipal workers who are being coordinated by the mayor Antonia Pérez in order to organize and carry out the distribution of materials and donations, as well as the realization of equipment with their own resources.

The mayor of Equality has also distributed the posters and information related to a national coordination and information campaign for the prevention of gender violence.

In addition to those already distributed, the City Council has more donated visors.

Regarding the rest, Morales has announced that "anyone interested and who has a business open to the public can contact the email address economia@lorca.es to request that one of them be provided."
