Lorca adheres to the national campaign against gender violence launched by the State Pact of the Ministry of Equality (10/04/2020)

The campaign, under the slogan 'We are with you, gender violence we stop it together', 37 pharmacies, 125 shops and the drivers of the urban transport service participate in caring for those women victims of male violence who ask for help.

The Councilor for Equality of the City of Lorca, Antonia Pérez, has announced the adhesion to the state campaign against gender violence 'We are with you, gender violence we stand together'.

Pérez explained that "the Ministry of Equality has promoted a contingency plan against gender violence in the face of the health crisis caused by COVID-19, which has led to the need to decree the state of alarm and confinement in our homes and that it forces many women victims of this violence to remain in their homes. "

The Edil has detailed that "the City of Lorca, through the Department of Equality and Commerce, has joined the dissemination of this campaign involving the service of buses, pharmacies and other businesses in the municipality, through identifying signs of the service , so that women who are in a situation of risk or danger to their physical, psychological and / or sexual integrity can ask for help easily and safely ".

Pérez Segura has indicated that "specifically, these are 37 pharmacies, all of which are in the municipality of Lorca, as well as 125 businesses that adhere to this campaign, as well as the drivers of the urban transport service. In all these places, posters and personnel have been presented with an action protocol called 'Mask 19', launched by the regional government and which is equated in criteria with the national campaign with the aim of unifying and simplifying the mechanics of action for drivers, pharmacists and merchants to collect women's demand and make a call to 112 to alert emergency services to the situation, which, from there, will indicate the steps to be taken and the information required, guaranteeing maximum discretion and confidentiality at all times. "

The Councilor for Equality has shown that "for this emergency call to be effective, the woman will be asked, as far as possible and with the utmost discretion, for her name, address and telephone number, or will be provided with a paper and pen so she can write it herself. "

Antonia Pérez has remarked that "this confinement has not paralyzed the aid that continues to be offered to all these women and one of the lines of this contingency plan is the development of this institutional campaign aimed at involving society in denouncing violence and support for victims who need it, its main objectives being awareness against gender violence, alerting to situations of violence within homes and awareness of good treatment during the period of alarm.
