The Municipal Music Band of Lorca livens up this atypical Easter by recording a choral video of the blue and white hymns (10/04/2020)

In addition, throughout this week from the social networks of the Department of Culture, curiosities of the history of passionate music in the municipality have been shared, with curiosities about the composers of the marches of the different steps.

The councilors of Easter and Culture of Lorca, José Luis Ruiz Guillén and María Ángeles Mazuecos have thanked the work carried out by the musicians of the Municipal Music Band of Lorca to contribute to the celebration of this edition of Easter which as a consequence We are living in our homes due to the coronavirus health crisis.

The mayor of Culture explained that "last week the musicians, under the direction of Antonio Manzanera, recorded chords of their instrument in their houses to unite them and make them sound, as we have been able to verify the perfect hymns of both Paso Azul and Paso White, with a great job of coordination between all the musicians. "

For his part, the councilor for Easter has stressed that in this way "the members of the Municipal Band do not entertain with their music what is being an atypical Easter, because we cannot live it in our streets, churches and in the career of Juan Carlos Avenue, but that each one of us is enjoying in our houses, together with our families, going out to windows and balconies to shout cheers ".

María Ángeles Mazuecos recalled that, within the initiative that we are carrying out on the social networks of Culture sharing content to make these days of confinement more bearable, during this week we have been publishing the music history of our Holy Week, giving to know curiosities such as that is the hymn of the Paso Encarnado, entitled "Viva el Barrio", a pasodoble-march of military court and unknown author, was arranged by Master Heredia in the 1940s;

that "Entry into Jerusalem", also known as "The God of Israel", hymn of the Hebrew People of the Paso Blanco, is considered the oldest musical piece of our Holy Week, or that the Tres, hymn of the Paso Blanco and Las Caretas, hymn of Paso Azul, musical pieces of happy and martial chords were composed at the end of the 19th century and both are by an unknown author.
