These new communication channels join the existing ones, such as the municipal website that has registered more than 107,000 visits in just one month, many of them motivated by issues related to the coronavirus; as well as profiles that are already active such as Twitter (10,095 followers) or Facebook (10,909 followers). The Councilor for the Information Society of the City of Lorca, Irene Jódar, has reported the launch from the Consistory of two new official profiles on social networks Telegram and Instagram. The Councilor for the Information Society has indicated that "from the Government team we are aware of the importance of communication today, especially when it comes to explaining to the citizen all the work that is done from the Consistory.

Make known the measures, initiatives, proposals that are being made by the City Council so that our neighbors can be informed, attending to the principle of transparency and the right to information, and that they do so almost instantaneously thanks to the use of these social networks in images and videos are also offered.

" Irene Jódar highlighted that "specifically, an official Telegram channel has been created, with the name 'Ayuntamiento de Lorca', and an Instagram profile (@AytoLorca) to bring users of these social networks closer to all the information related to the present time of the municipality ". To join the new Telegram channel, all you have to do is download the application, write 'Ayuntamiento de Lorca' in the search engine and click on join; while to do the same on Instagram you have to write @AytoLorca in the search engine and click on follow. The mayor of the Information Society explained that "the Instagram profile, aimed above all at a younger audience, we want to make it very visual so that, with a simple glance, through images and videos, the followers can know the current events.

While that the Telegram channel will be used to report press releases issued by the City Council, in addition to different alerts that may be given to keep the population more immediately informed.

" Jódar Pérez pointed out that "with these new profiles we want to complete the municipal information that is offered daily from the website of the City Council, which has recorded magnificent data in terms of visitor traffic, more than 107,000 in just one month, many of them motivated by issues related to the coronavirus; as well as all the content that we are sharing from the Session in the official profiles that are already active such as Twitter (10,084 followers) or Facebook (10,916 followers). Jódar recalled "the good acceptance of the Telegram channel of the Municipal Emergency Service '112Lorca', which came into operation a month ago, as a new means of communication in which citizens are informed of everything that happens as to Emergencies, and also about the coronavirus health crisis and which already exceeds 3,200 subscribers ".
