The PP proposes that the City Council start the free distribution of masks as soon as possible among the entire population, as happens in other cities (21/04/2020)

| • Mayte Martínez: "If we want children and their families to be able to go outside safely on Monday, they have to be fitted with masks | There are many families that do not have itAt this point we cannot make mistakes that force us to take a step back.

If the minors can go out, have masks delivered before Monday "The Councilor for Health in the City of Lorca for the Popular Party, Mayte Martínez, has proposed that the Municipal Council start as soon as possible the free distribution of masks among the entire population, following the line of work that other municipalities are already developing , even within the Region of Murcia.

We must bear in mind that the Minister of Health himself recommended ten days ago "the use of hygienic and reusable face masks" among the population, a recommendation that, unfortunately and as we have verified, left much to be desired.Mayte Martínez has stated that from the PP we consider it necessary that the City Council undertake the delivery of masks not only among the group of workers who have been returning to their usual jobs, but among the entire population.

We are talking about a resource that, at this stage of the coronavirus-motivated pandemic, has proven to be an effective and necessary tool.We are all aware that, given their obvious usefulness, all people in Lorca must have masks also in the event that they have to leave their homes not only to work, but also to buy food products, walk to their pets or other permitted actions. We propose that the distribution among the entire population of Lorca should begin as soon as possible, since according to what the central government has announced, starting next Monday, the 26th, children will be able to go out into the street to begin the process of lack of confinement in stages.

It is pure common sense that both minors and family members who go out on the streets with them must have these masks, whose distribution by the Spanish government is proving controversial and manifestly unfortunate. We request, in this sense, that the City Council make this distribution from a double perspective: on the one hand, establishing delivery points and, on the other hand, making a shipment that includes the mail both in the urban area and in our districts.

It is a double route that would offer a much more effective result than other formulas, and that would respond to the need of the population to have these masks. In fact, there are families who do not have this medium, and who have transmitted their uncertainty to us because of the situation they are experiencing.

If we want children and their families to go out on the street safely next Monday, they must be provided with masks.

At this point we cannot make mistakes that force us to take a step back.
