| Vox Lorca calls for the development of a new municipal budget project to deal with the coronavirus crisis | The Vox group in Lorca urges the City Council to draw up a new budget as soon as possible, adapted to the exceptional situation we are experiencing.

We have to eliminate all unnecessary expenses and allocate more resources to overcome the health crisis and revive the economy.Vox Lorca shares the concern about the crisis caused by the Covid-19 and the effects it will have on the future of Lorca.

In our municipal group we are aware that only imaginative and courageous measures will help us to overcome this health crisis and revive the local economy.With this objective, we want to offer the municipality of Lorca our support to prepare a new municipal budget project as soon as possible with which to face the crisis that the pandemic is causing.

The current budget is that of 2019 extended.

It was elaborated in a different context and facing different needs than the current ones.

The current situation requires a new municipal budget.The new accounts should eliminate unnecessary expenses to allocate all possible items to guarantee assistance to Lorca who need it, the health security of the municipality and the economic revival of our industry and commerce.Expenditures we propose to eliminate include subsidies to unions, business organizations, political parties, and municipal political groups, including ours.Other measures that the Vox Group in Lorca proposes to overcome the effects of this health crisis are:Strengthen municipal assistance services for disadvantaged groupsCreate a working group to analyze the economic impact that this health crisis will have on the municipality and decide the best tools to overcome it.Reduce the tax burden on families and compensate for the losses derived from the increase in unemployment and the stoppage of business activity.Defer the payment of the tax on constructions, installations and works paralyzed by the declaration of the state of alarm.

In case they have already been settled, 50% refund.Postpone two months the fulfillment of all neighborhood tax obligations with the City Council subject to deadline.Suspend regulated parking areas.
