The Department of Social Services receives almost 5,000 calls to request information and social support during the health crisis (27/04/2020)

" From March 16 to date, the demands are being met through the shifts established in the Social Services Center, a task that they also carry out through telephone service guards on weekends and holidays, in coordination with the Service of 112 and Local Police, to whom the mayor of Social Services has wanted to thank their support. Chumillas recalled that "in a first phase, all group and non-essential activities, such as workshops, seminars, community activities, were closed due to the concentration of people, and in a second phase, the service was readapted with individual, family and community social work ". Economic benefits for food purchases in the "MAMBRË" Commissary, managed by Caritas, where families can make purchases in a standardized way. Distribution of food, medicines, bank procedures, exceptionally for cases in confinement for positive in COVID-19, in coordination with 112, local Police and Civil Guard. People passing through Lorca or homeless, in order to carry out the quarantine, the resources of the Municipal Shelter of Passers-by and the 'El Buen Camino' Association are managed.
