The Department of Culture launches the contest "RelatoCortoConfinado" in which to capture what the days of confinement are like (28/04/2020)

It may be realistic, fantasy or mystery works with which "the Lorca and Lorca women let their imaginations run wild and serve as an escape route for these days we are spending at home," according to mayor María Ángeles Mazuecos. The Councilor for Culture of the City of Lorca, María Ángeles Mazuecos, has reported a new initiative under the title "RelatoCortoConfinado" launched by the Popular University of Lorca. The mayor of Culture has stressed that "the goal is for people to tell how they are living this period of confinement, what they do, and capture it through a realistic, fantasy or mystery story.

We want Lorca and Lorca to let their imagination and share it with all of us.

" María Ángeles Mazuecos explained that "anyone can participate in two modalities: children up to 15 years old and adults 16 years old and up, in addition, in the case of the stories, the originals must be presented, which will be unpublished and written in Spanish and in Word format , with a minimum of one page and a maximum of three (Times New Roman font, size 12 and double spaced) ". As for the submission period, it is already open, from the publication of the bases, it will be until the end of the alarm state and can be done through the email address universidadpopular@lorca.es. In addition, all participants must send two files: one containing the name of the story and the modality (child or adult); and a second file with also contains the name of the story, in addition to the author, email address, postal address and mobile phone number. The Councilor for Culture stressed that "it will be a jury made up of people from the cultural, social or artistic sphere, who decides by majority once the state of alarm ends who will be the winners in both the adult and child modalities" . The prizes will be in the adult category 200 euros in cash to exchange for books in any of the bookstores in Lorca, and in the children's category 100 euros for books or educational products in bookstores in Lorca. Finally, María Ángeles Mazuecos has encouraged everyone to participate in this initiative in which we can find in writing an escape route or a way to travel or give free rein to our imagination and do it from the living room of our houses, where we must keep up, as we are doing so far, to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
