The PP launches a comprehensive parliamentary offensive for Pedro Sánchez to keep his word (28/04/2020)

| And the victims of the earthquakes recover the 50% bonus from the IBI that was taken from them last year | Pedro Sánchez assured last November 8 during his meeting in Los Alcázares that "as soon as there is a government issues such as the approval of the 50% IBI bonus, they can be carried forward." The PP requires that Sánchez's promise be effectiveThe councilor of the Popular Party in the City of Lorca, Juan Miguel Bayonas, has reported that the PP, collecting the proposal transferred to this political formation by the different groups, citizen associations and local productive fabric, will articulate the mechanisms that are necessary for the Popular Party to launch a comprehensive parliamentary offensive in order for the Government of Spain to return to the victims of the earthquakes the 50% IBI bonus. The collectives with whom we are meeting periodically during these weeks have a common coincidence when it comes to establishing what aid the Lorca people need to be able to face the very difficult situation that we are going through.

The aim is to recover the tax credit that has most benefited Lorca families affected by the earthquakes, which would leave a figure in excess of 7.5 million euros in the pockets of citizens, and which would directly help 44,000 Lorca residents. The Popular Party began from the first day to work to maintain the 50% IBI bonus in 2019.

Faced with our proposals and requests, the socialists responded with their already classic derogatory statements and their bad forms, and assured that this bonus "was a reality".

We raised multiple and continuous claims by way of motions, propositions not of Law in the Congress of Deputies, and initiatives before the Senate and the Regional Assembly, against which they responded to us trying to delay their processing and block them.

We have not forgotten this matter, on the contrary, we consider it more necessary than ever, and that is why we are going to walk the path we started more than a year ago, and we will demand again in the City Council, Regional Assembly,Senate of the Kingdom of Spain and Congress of Deputies that those affected by the earthquakes recover what should never have been taken from them.Juan Miguel Bayonas explained that the Lorca society has told us that the IBI rebate for the victims of the earthquake is still necessary, since the urban reconstruction, repair and regeneration works have not been completed.

We must remember that after a wide series of deceits, which has lasted for more than a year, they ended up saying, verbatim, that "when the government is formed and the legislature begins to move, the economic resources will be disbursed, including this IBI bonus." We are forced to remember that in the midst of the electoral campaign they came to tell the people of Lorca not to worry, that the IBI they had paid was going to be returned to them, and that is what we already demand.

It is a matter of social justice for those affected. From the PP they have indicated that the victims have had to endure an extensive list of excuses, one evasion after another, that different socialist leaders have been launching, trusting that leaving over time people would forget the issue.

But the time has come to put their faces in front of the mirror so that the people of Lorca remember the deceptions that we have had to endure since we began to publicly denounce that the PSOE was going to take away the IBI bonus.

Here we recall the promises made by the leaders of the PSOE, all unfulfilled:- November 8: Pedro Sánchez (rally in Los Alcázares): "as soon as there is a government and the legislature starts, issues such as the approval of the 50% IBI bonus, can be moved forward."- November 13, Diego José Mateos (current mayor): "formulas are being sought to compensate taxpayers.

Those alternatives include offering a refund to those who have paid or rewarded that 50% the following year."- November 14, Isidro Abellán (Councilor for Finance): "when a government is formed in Spain and the legislature begins to move, the economic resources for Lorca will be disbursed, including this IBI bonus."
