Fulgencio Gil: "the measures of the current local government are a bad and hollow copy of the LORCA RESPONDE Plan" (29/04/2020)

| "that will prolong the social and economic crisis in our municipality" | The actions presented today, after 45 days awaiting the reaction of the City Council, fall deeply short, and constitute an exercise in absolute resignationFaced with the worst possible scenario, they abandon citizens to their fate "The spokesman for the Municipal People's Group in the City of Lorca, Fulgencio Gil, has pointed out that the measures announced today, after 45 days of waiting, by the current local government, are a bad copy of the LORCA RESPONDE Plan, a denatured and emptied plagiarism, it offers no real solution to the real problems people have.

This is far from what Lorca needs to face the social, economic and labor crisis that the coronavirus is causing.

Nor does it offer the necessary social response to get out of this catastrophe, since families are the great forgotten ones.Fulgencio Gil has indicated that we have been proposing the implementation of the LORCA RESPONDE Plan, and what we have found today as an answer is a "don't know, don't answer".

Local government cannot erase itself now and shirk its responsibility just when citizens need it most. The announcement made by the current local government confirms that they lack a plan to deal with the catastrophe.

They are "balance" measures, and we are not currently in a sales campaign.

This proposal is not a serious plan, but a flight forward that will worsen the situation, and will weigh down the precarious economy of our merchants, hoteliers, freelancers and SMEs.Being already obviously ineffective measures, the worst thing is that from minute 0 they have renounced to deduct the IBI, which is the heaviest tax burden that Lorca have to bear, something that we consider a real nonsense, so that we will continue to insist that its rebate is something that cannot be waived, and the indispensable condition that has been set for us by the citizens and the productive fabric for politicians to establish the measures that allow us to get out of this crisis. The current local government's proposal is manifestly stingy, to such an extent that instead of establishing exemptions and tax credits for families, merchants and hoteliers who need it, they simply limit their payment, and condemn them to an improvised "alms fund "Lorca families and the productive fabric are crying out for real and effective solutions, and today we have the specific example of the hospitality sector, which has rebelled against Pedro Sánchez's proposals, and announces a lockout if they do not rectify it.Have they really not been able to understand that what people need is for their taxes to be lowered? Have they not realized that the problem is that people do not have the resources to pay, either now or in a few months? Does anyone think this is going to be fixed before the end of the year or in the first months of 2021?People will continue to have to pay all their taxes, where is the City Council's commitment to Lorca? Establishing moratoriums so that citizens have to pay in time does nothing but prolong their agony, increase uncertainty and lead us to a dead end.

In this way no one is helped, that is, as it is popularly said, "a kick forward".Fulgencio Gil has announced that the PP will continue to work so that in the monographic plenary to be held next week the measures that people need can be approved, because the people of Lorca deserve a serious and courageous plan, not an archaic project of charity that returns us to the system of "handouts and tips" or stingy and impossible to justify subsidies, plunging citizens into a bureaucratic tangle from which we have been chastened.
