Lorca will distribute masks again this Monday among users of urban transport, trains and buses (03/05/2020)

The mayor of Transport, Irene Jódar, recalled that "this is the material that the Government of Spain has sent to the Autonomous Communities with the aim of continuing to comply with safety and hygiene measures." The Councilors for Transport and Emergencies of the Lorca City Council, Irene Jódar and Isabel Casalduero, have announced that, starting tomorrow, a new distribution of masks will be carried out for all users of urban public transport and that according to what the Government has announced from Spain will be compulsory starting this Monday, May 4. The mayor of Transport has explained that "it is the second delivery of masks that the Government of Spain makes to the Autonomous Communities and that in turn have been distributed among the different municipalities of the Region according to the percentage of population, specifically for the municipality of Lorca corresponds to us 5,900 masks ". The Councilor for Emergencies has indicated that this morning personnel from the Municipal Service of Civil Protection and Emergencies have collected all this material, and will be themselves responsible for the next few days to distribute them among those who have to do some of the municipal urban transport and also at Sutullena and San Diego train stations, and at the bus station.

" Jódar Pérez stressed that "we will have enough masks, taking into account the decrease in recent weeks in terms of the use of this type of transport, which is recommended to be only in cases of need for those who travel to work, such as for example, the health personnel of the hospital or the workers of the Shopping Center. In addition, the mayor of Transport has added that "we are also pending the masks that have been communicated to us, they have to send us through the Federation of Municipalities." Finally, Irene Jódar has once again called for responsibility so that we continue to comply with safety and hygiene measures, since, although we enter Phase 0 of the de-escalation as of this Monday, we cannot forget that the virus is still with us.

We ask our neighbors for another effort to continue obtaining results as good as those we are having.
