| On the RM-620 road (Lorca-Pulpí) | Citizen collaboration has been crucial It yielded results of 1.12 and 1.03 milligrams of alcohol per liter of exhaled air, the maximum being 0.25 mg / l. It moved from Baza (Granada) to Pulpí (Almería) The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia has investigated a driver who was driving on the RM-602 highway (Lorca-Pulpí) with an alcohol rate that quadrupled the maximum allowed.

The alleged authorship of a crime against road safety is attributed to him for driving under the influence of alcoholic beverages. The action took place when the Traffic Operations Center of the Murcia Traffic Sector received a call from a user who warned of the anomalous circulation of a tourism on the RM-620 road, at kilometer 3, direction Andalusia, so that a motorcycle patrol from the Lorca Traffic Detachment moved to the scene. Thanks to the description provided by the citizen, the civil guards located the vehicle that was moving erratically and zigzagging, so they intercepted it at kilometer 6,500 of the road, on suspicion of alleged alcohol consumption. The driver, who was traveling alone and was heading, after the end of his agricultural working day, to his home in the town of Pulpí (Almería), was subjected to the mandatory alcohol tests, which yielded a positive result of 1.12 and 1.03 milligrams of alcohol per liter of exhaled air, quadrupling the maximum allowable rate of 0.25 mg / liter. For all these reasons, he was investigated as an alleged perpetrator of driving under the influence of alcoholic beverages, by far exceeding the established rates, and was placed at the disposal of Investigative Court number 2 of Lorca, for the holding of the corresponding trial. The crime of driving under the influence of alcoholic beverages, with rates higher than 0.60 milligrams / liter, is included in article 379 of the Penal Code and can be alternatively punished with prison terms of 3 to 6 months, a fine of 6 to 12 months, or works for the benefit of the community from 31 to 90 days and in any case with deprivation of the right to drive motor vehicles and mopeds for a period of more than 1 and up to 4 years. The Civil Guard continues to reiterate its message to those drivers who recklessly and recklessly, despite the campaigns and warnings of the General Directorate of Traffic, drive after having drunk alcohol or taken drugs, recalling that, without prejudice to the systematic implementation and permanent controls to verify compliance with the limitations established by the declaration of the state of alarm due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Traffic Group of the Civil Guard continues to develop its specific activity of road safety surveillance during the 24 hours a day. On the other hand, the Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia thanks the collaboration provided by the person who alerted of the incidence and appeals to the civic conscience of the population, so that they can call 062 (Civil Guard), 112 (Emergencies) or directly to on-duty patrols, when encountering abnormal situations or irregular maneuvers that lead to the belief that drivers do so under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
