The PP denounces that "the laziness of the PSOE mayor causes Limusa to violate the Law on Residues and Contaminated Soils" (04/06/2020)

| Despite the continuous warnings of the popular | The most recent European regulations oblige companies that collect waste to obtain at least half of the bio-waste generated in citiesThe popular demand that Limusa undertake the pilot project that was planned to raise awareness among citizens about the need to separate biowaste. The Councilor of Limusa in the Lorca City Council for the Popular Party, Juan Miguel Bayonas, has denounced that the chaos that the current mayor maintains within the municipal cleaning company, Limusa, has degenerated in that the current local government has not done absolutely nothing to comply with Law 22/2011 on waste and contaminated soil.

We are talking about a situation that we have already brought to the attention of the current local government, but before which they have done nothing, because they have everything stopped.

They have not even had the courtesy to respond to the writings on the matter made from the Popular Party dated July 16 and August 22 last year.

We warned them, but they have done nothing. The PP councilor explained that Directive 2008/98 / EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 19 November 2008 on waste, and by which certain directives are repealed by integrating them into a single rule, establishes the legal framework of the European Union for waste management.

It was applied in Spain with Law 22/2011, of July 28, on contaminated waste and soil, which translates, in concrete terms, that cities are obliged to collect at least half of bio-waste. Juan Miguel Bayonas, given the delay accumulated by the lack of diligence of the current local government, has insisted on his request that Limusa undertake the pilot project that was already planned by the PP to develop a test in the container areas of the Juan Carlos I avenue, mailboxing and informing all the neighbors at street level about the need to separate biowaste in homes, depositing the remains of fruits, vegetables, food, pastries, nuts, bread, fish, in a different bag, seafood, coffee, herbal teas, cork, sawdust and matches, among other items. From the PP they have recalled that we have managed to make Lorca a city that serves as a reference model to other municipalities in terms of management of all types of urban waste.

It has been an intense work, planned and whose execution has deserved the recognition of various institutions over the past years.

Now we want this work to continue, not to slow down, and for this reason we consider it essential that the procedures that we leave pending be carried out. From the Popular Party we demand that the mayor of the PSOE gets to work and materializes the provisions already advanced in this regard to comply with this legislation.

It is a question that does not admit delay, and that must be carried out to serve as an example to the citizens, within the task of social pedagogy in the matter of waste that must be developed by all public administrations.

We are talking about a measure that has a positive impact on all aspects, but that has special significance in its social, environmental and ecological aspects.
