Lorca has been chosen among the images of the campaign to represent the historical wealth of the Region and the important place that this cultural capital occupies in it, which was visited in 2019 by 71,529 people. The Minister of Tourism, Youth and Sports, Cristina Sánchez, stated that Lorca is one of the main exponents of cultural and city tourism in the Region of Murcia, which is reinforced as a safe destination, to be able to welcome visitors in their most than 50 tourist establishments, and indicated that the reservations for this month have risen during the last week. "This result begins to be the result of the work carried out by the sector in coordination with the regional government, and which adds to the tourist diversity that this city offers: active tourism, sun and beach, inland, cultural, heritage, rural and religious". In this way, he stressed that the tourism sector in Lorca has institutional support, "and we will continue to work together in search of the reactivation of an industry that not only translates into traveler data, but is the economic engine of this Region.

" Cristina Sánchez stressed that Lorca, in addition to being a cultural capital, offers the opportunity to enjoy multiple experiences, such as getaways to its coves, beach bars and charming beaches, active tourism activities, infrastructures such as those proposed by the Almendricos Greenway, as well as top quality gastronomy and hospitality.

Added to this is its variety of accommodation and services for all types of profiles. The counselor indicated that this city belongs to the network of destinations SICTED (Comprehensive System of Spanish Tourist Quality in Destinations), "which makes it a tourist benchmark for the quality and confidence it offers both visitors and residents." 'Meet again in the Region of Murcia' This Summer 2020 tourist promotion campaign for the Region of Murcia is focused on promoting sun and beach tourism, in addition to the rest of regional tourism products and inland areas as a holiday alternative, which is promoted at the regional, national and international levels through television, press, radio, digital and signage. "The campaign 'Re-find yourself in the Region of Murcia' was born because the time has come to relive unique experiences, revive tourism, recharge batteries, tour the Region, repeat favorite dishes and rewrite new stories, acting with prudence and responsibility," he said.
