The Department of Sports is committed to energy efficiency by changing the lighting of municipal sports facilities to LED (13/07/2020)

LED luminaires have been installed on the CD Felipe VI sports court, and in the corridors and common areas of the Francisco Artés Carrasco Stadium, Alfonso Embarre field and the San José Pavilion to reduce consumption, which means savings for municipal coffers. The Councilor for Sports, Irene Jódar explained, this morning, the different actions that are being carried out in the sports facilities of the municipality, with the aim of working towards "energy efficiency and achieving economic savings for the coffers of the Lorca City Council ". The Councilor for Sports noted that "we have completely changed the lighting of the Felipe VI sports court.

The change to LED means a 40 percent saving in consumption compared to previous bills.

We have gone from having 400W luminaires to luminaires 150W or 200W, which give more light than the previous ones, consuming less.

In the changing room areas, a part has also been changed to led, as well as in swimming pools.

We thus achieve energy savings, which has a direct impact and favors the decrease of spending in our municipal facilities.

" Irene Jódar has specified that "in the Francisco Artés Carrasco Stadium, the entire ring of the stadium has been replaced by LED lighting.

In addition, sensors have been installed in common areas such as toilets and changing rooms, which undoubtedly represents great savings, since it only lights up the light when you notice movement.

A home automation system has been installed there to control the on and off of all lights, bulbs and projectors.

Through a mobile application, with their smartphones, the custodians can maneuver and control all the lighting in the stadium " . Jódar Pérez added that "we have also changed the lights in the common areas of the 'Alfonso Embarre' soccer field and the 'Pabellón de San José'.

We have repaired bulbs in the 'Mundial 82 Paco El Lomas' soccer field.

We are currently working on 'Los Tollos', as well as on 'CD San ??Antonio', both in the common areas, in the pools and on the slopes.

" The mayor of Sports has reiterated "its commitment to progressively change the lighting of all sports facilities to LEDs in order to achieve maximum energy and economic savings.

We are renovating spaces, and replacing low-energy light bulbs that break, the latter for example in the pavilions of the districts of Almendricos, La Hoya or Purias ". Jódar has commented that "we are working to continue with our commitment to reduce energy and economic spending, in addition to promoting energy efficiency, which directly affects both the municipal coffers and the service we provide to our users, since it is seen much better and sports practice is much more comfortable.

" Finally, the councilor has shown the intention of "doing these works progressively, since, for example, the renovation of the integral lighting of the Felipe VI sports court has cost more than 10,000 euros" and has thanked "for the work done to the colleagues of the Department of Local Development who have contributed to these improvements.
