This Tuesday, July 14, due to the storm with an electrical device, which affected the north of the municipality of Lorca, there have been two outbreaks of fire, the result of lightning strikes that have fallen in different parts of the area.The Councilor for Emergencies of the City of Lorca, Isabel Casalduero, thanked "the civic work of the residents of the north of Lorca, who promptly called 112 to warn of the columns of smoke that these attacks have left, which has allowed the rapid intervention of the media of the INFOMUR Plan, located in the “Lorca Norte” Emergency Base in Zarcilla de Ramos ”.Casalduero added that "the rapid intervention of the outstanding services in the area, made up of the First Intervention Unit of the Municipal Emergency Service, as well as the ground and air force of the General Directorate of the Natural Environment, have prevented the spread of these conatos ”.The warning calls have entered 112 at 12:00, the intervention means to locate the position of the attempts were immediately sent.
At around 1:00 p.m., the outbreak located next to the road linking Las Terreras and Zarzadilla de Totana, about 5 kilometers from the latter town, has been controlled.The second attempt took place in the Sierra del Cambrón, above the site of the Cueva del Compadre, which has been controlled by the Zarcilla de Ramos-based extinction helicopter, which has had to carry out several water discharges with its helibalde to control this incipient fire, in a place of difficult access.Until 15:00 hours, media have remained in the area, ensuring that the outbreaks do not reignite.
Throughout the afternoon, a dynamic surveillance will be carried out in the affected areas of the municipality, to guarantee that no new outbreaks occur.
