VOX Lorca fully recognizes Lorca embroidery and the commitment to make it an official vocational training title (20/07/2020)

Since time immemorial, Lorca embroiderers have been demanding the need for the recognition of their profession through an official qualification, a fact that led the IES Bartolomé Pérez Casas to request ICUAM, Institute of Qualifications of the Region of Murcia, in 2014, to urge The Government of Spain to create the Professional Embroidery Qualification, which would allow the corresponding Certificate of Professionalism to be awarded to embroiderers who accredit a series of requirements and, if necessary, pass the appropriate official test.In 2018, the General Directorate for Professional Training of the Ministry of Education of the CARM, through ICUAM, carried out the application procedures with the help of the artistic directors Joaquín Bastida Gil and David Torres del Alcázar, together with the embroiderers Silvia Teruel Ayala and Ana Cazorla Sánchez.José Manuel Marín, senator for VOX, has shown his interest in the status of this procedure.

For this reason, we consider that the City Council of Lorca must be fully involved to support this initiative that will allow current workers who have been carrying out their work without adequate recognition to see their competence accredited with a good official qualification, as well as fill a historical gap.

of the lack of an official title related to this profession.Unrivaled works of art have emerged from the hands of our embroiderers.

It is time to take a turn and in addition to thanking them for their work, equip them with the weapons to obtain a degree and a situation that would be for embroiderers an achievement expected for years. That is why the Municipal Group VOX Lorca will take the Lorca embroidery to full, to get the city of Lorca to support this initiative with the greatest possible force. In addition, next Wednesday the 22nd there will be a very important meeting with the presidents of all the confraternities in Lorca, with the presence of Senator José Manuel Marín and councilmen Carmen Menduiña and José Martínez, to bring them up to date on progress in this area.
