Lifeguards rescue three bathers who could not get out of the water in Puntas de Calnegre (21/07/2020)

Lifeguards from the Emergency and Civil Protection Service of the Lorca City Council, attached to the Copla Plan, for surveillance and rescue on beaches and rescue at sea, have rescued three bathers who could not get out of the water in Puntas de Calnegre (Lorca).The rescued men, men aged 51, 18 and 15, respectively, have been assisted by emergency health services due to exhaustion and the oldest of them was taken to the health center for review.

1-1-2 received calls from other beach users at 10.04 am.They reported seeing two people holding onto a buoy about 50 m away.

from the beach and another that drifted towards the rocks.

The latter was able to get out of the water with the help of other bathers.Meanwhile, lifeguards (at that time the beach surveillance post was still closed) and a Maritime Salvage boat were mobilized to the scene.The lifeguards were able to rescue and carry the two people who were still in the water to the shore, without the intervention of the boat being necessary.Likewise, a Mobile Emergency Unit of the Emergency Management and Health Emergencies 061 went to the beach, whose health personnel recognized the rescued.All were in good condition and only the adult was taken to the health center, affected by exhaustion due to the physical effort made to get out of the water.
