María Ángeles Mazuecos: "from the departments of Culture and University we hope not only to retake this course but to double the training offer next summer". The Councilor for Culture and the University of Lorca of the Lorca City Council, María Ángeles Mazuecos, has reported on the courses at the University of the Sea. Mazuecos explained that "the non-celebration, this year, of the courses organized by the Universidad del Mar in Lorca has been a completely unilateral decision made by the members of this entity and due to the global pandemic caused by the coronavirus." The Councilor for Culture has indicated that "those responsible for the Universidad del Mar, dependent on the University of Murcia, were able to contact the Lorca City Council to hold again this summer the training workshops that are held in the summer period in our municipality and, as usual, they were offered all kinds of facilities, finally the members of the entity decided to suspend the usual training organized in our municipality during the summer period.
" María Ángeles Mazuecos has detailed that "due to the situation of health crisis in which we find ourselves, the holding of courses electronically took place, thus avoiding the meeting of people, but finally the Universidad del Mar made the decision itself not to hold the courses this year.
" The mayor has revealed that "from the departments of Culture and University we hope not only to resume this course but to double the training offer next summer to recover this year 2020."
