Mateos excuse themselves by repeating that it is not their responsibility The councilor for Citizen Participation in the city of Lorca for the Popular Party, María de las Huertas García, has denounced this morning the unfortunate state of abandonment that the residents of the San Pedro neighborhood are suffering due to the inoperation of the group of Mr Mateos.
After accompanying a group of residents of the area on a tour of their neighborhood, we have had the opportunity to see in first person that San Pedro is riddled with dirt, garbage, dumps and its streets are dirtier than ever.
The attention of Mr Mateos's group is nil, and its effects need not even be qualified because the images are revealing enough.
The level of degradation has never been seen before.
Lorca is much worse today than a year ago. Mari Huertas García has stated that we are facing a new, and particularly unpleasant, example of the degradation and degeneration that is causing the current mayor's failure to operate in practically all enclaves of our municipal area.
On this occasion, they also denounce the proliferation of insects, mainly cockroaches and mosquitoes, as well as ticks and rodents (both rats and mice), but what we could not believe is that they also suffered the presence of other animals. In fact, we have to recognize that the neighbors have been warning us for several weeks, both for us and for Mr.
Mateos's group, and it is now that the graphic document that attests to us has been transferred: snakes through their streets and invading even their homes, and they confirm that these are not specific episodes, but habitual events.
Everything indicates that these are ladder snakes, which can reach a length of two meters and feed on rodents and birds. It is evident that Mr Mateos is accumulating serious problems.
It does not respond to the needs of the citizens, it does not attend to them, they do not even get the phone, and when they do it it is to pass the ball between the councils.
Lorca is standing, this is the reality, and instead of putting on a blindfold and inventing conspiracies, Mr.
Mateos would have to get to work and offer a solution to the people. In the face of this disaster, from the PP we demand that they assume their responsibility, that they recognize what is an absolute clamor at this point.
What they would have to do, out of respect for the citizens, is ask for forgiveness and start solving this dire spectacle.
Already good excuses, this situation is seriously affecting thousands of neighbors, and is absolutely unsustainable.
The residents of both the urban area, and neighborhoods and districts, we are moved daily that no solution is offered to the problems they report, and that its streets have never been as dirty and neglected as now.
It is paradoxical, given that all Lorca, regardless of where they resist, pay more taxes today than ever The examples of the last days, with roach plagues in Almendricos, rats by Juan Carlos I and the corridors of the city council itself, as well as the tons of garbage that accumulate in lots and streets in the San Cristóbal neighborhood, should have made us reflect already Mr.
Mateos, Pedro Sánchez de Lorca, who, instead of remedying, what he says are excuses, very bad excuses.
The images that continue to come to us daily from the affected neighbors themselves speak for themselves.
They have not been invented by anyone nor are they part of any "conspiracy", as Mr Mateos now indicates. This situation, like that of other enclaves, is due solely and exclusively to the total lack of attention and interest on the part of the current mayor, which adds to the absence of political leadership in the municipal cleaning company, Limusa, as well as the absolute general abandonment by the government group.
There is also no type of surveillance or intervention by urban planning services. As it happens in other neighborhoods and districts, it has been the residents themselves who have taught us how the situation is: plagues of rodents, insects, ticks, containers turned into pestilence sources, unsanitary spaces, illegal dumps, dirtier streets than never, areas full of garbage, weeds invading the streets, remains of work scattered by lots, burned and abandoned furniture, broken belongings, defecation and urine on the streets without cleaning for days and days.
