The members of the Surveillance and Rescue Device on Beaches of the Lorca City Council rescue two bathers in Cala de Calnegre (06/08/2020)

Specifically, two young men of 21 and 25 years old who were being dragged by the current on a mat and who have been rescued without the need for health care. The Councilor for Emergencies of the Lorca City Council, Isabel Casalduero, has reported the rescue of two people in Cala de Calnegre. Casalduero explained that "the members of the Surveillance and Rescue Device in Beaches of the City of Lorca have rescued this morning two young people who were carrying an inflatable mat and who were being swept away by the current and had difficulties to get out in Cala de Calnegre" . The mayor has detailed that "the event took place around 1 pm when the lifeguards at the Cala lookout post noticed the event that was taking place and immediately proceeded to start the rescue." Casalduero Jódar has revealed that "specifically, there were two women, ages 21 and 25, who had difficulties getting out of the water because they were being dragged by the current on an inflatable mat and two rescuers participated in the rescue, helping them to get to the the shore without the need for health care.

" The Councilor for Emergencies has highlighted "the professionalism of the members of the Surveillance and Rescue Device in Beaches because they have again carried out a rescue intervention without any type of incident". Isabel Casalduero has insisted on "everyone's responsibility to avoid events of this type and, for this, we must always pay attention to the state of the sea, indicated by the safety flags".
