The City Council of Lorca and Public Health agree to create a Monitoring Committee to identify the traceability of infections in the municipality (10/08/2020)

The mayor of Lorca, Diego José Mateos, insists that "the situation in Lorca continues to be worrisome, not so much because of the number of cases but because of their dispersion, since we do not have the foci as localized as it can happen in other municipalities nearby like Totana or Mazarrón ". The mayor of Lorca, Diego José Mateos, has reported the content of the meeting held, this afternoon, with the Director General of Public Health of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, José Carlos Vicente, in which the situation of infections by coronavirus in the municipality of Lorca. The mayor of Lorca has pointed out that "the situation continues to be worrying in Lorca not so much because of the number of cases but because of the dispersion that exists of them, since we do not have the foci as localized as it can happen in other nearby municipalities such as Totana or Mazarrón where the ramifications of the infections are known, however, in Lorca almost half of the cases are not related to each other ". The Mayor has announced that "one of the measures adopted to be able to sectorize and identify the traceability of cases is the creation of a Monitoring Committee made up of technicians from Area 3, Public Health and the City Council, specifically from the Health Councils , Social Services, Emergencies and Local Police, and that it will hold regular meetings ". Diego José Mateos has insisted that "if we do not comply with the established norms, we will have to go back part of the path we have traveled, taking into account the social and economic consequences that this would entail for our municipality," for which reason he has once again appealed "to the responsibility of each and every one of the people from Lorca to contain the number of infections taking into account the safety and individual protection measures, such as the mandatory use of the mask, both in open and closed places, hand hygiene and distancing social, since we will not tire of saying that "there are no safe places or zero contagion". Mateos Molina has also referred to the "need to keep quarantine all those who are infected by the virus, for which an exhaustive monitoring of compliance with the same by the Local Police will continue." In this meeting with the heads of the General Directorate of Public Health of CARM, in addition to the mayor and the General Director of Public Health, the councilors have participated of Health, José Ángel Ponce, of Citizen Security, José Luis Ruiz Guillén, Emergencies, Isabel Casalduero and of Social Services, María Dolores Chumillas, as well as the Managing Director of the Murcian Health Service, Asensio López, the specialist in Preventive Health Medicine Public, Jaime Pérez and the manager of Health Area 3 and the Rafael Méndez de Lorca hospital, Enrique Casado.
