The City Council of Lorca and the Ministry of Business and Industry join forces to support the economic fabric of the municipality (02/09/2020)

The vice mayor, Francisco Morales, has held a working meeting with the regional government spokesperson, Ana Martínez Vidal, and her Board of Directors in order to coordinate actions to combat the negative economic consequences caused in Lorca by the Covid health crisis -19 The deputy mayor of Lorca, Francisco Morales, has held a working meeting in Murcia with the regional government spokesperson and Minister of Business and Industry, Ana Martínez Vidal, and her Board of Directors with the aim of strengthening the economic fabric of our municipality and which took place yesterday afternoon at the headquarters of the Ministry. In this meeting, where the general secretary, José Gabriel Sánchez, the director of the Development Institute, Diego Rodríguez-Linares, the general directors of Energy and Industrial and Mining Activity, Eduardo Piné, and of the European Union, Juan José Martínez, and the general directors of Commerce and Business Innovation, María José Ros, and of Consumption and Crafts, Carolina Espinosa, have been informed of all the relevant measures and decisions that are being taken with a view to establishing new budgets marked by the Covid-19 that will be designed focusing efforts more than ever on supporting commerce, hospitality and industry together with the self-employed, entrepreneurs, artisans and companies (SMEs and large corporations) in the Region of Murcia. The meeting with the City Council of Lorca, represented by the deputy mayor, Francisco Morales, has been focused on the analysis of the current economic situation of the municipality, detailed by the also councilor for Economy, Tourism, Industry, Commerce, Crafts and Public Companies.

Morales has transferred "the existing concern in the economic fabric of Lorca and that was exposed in a meeting held recently with all the economic agents of our municipality to inform them of the extraordinary measures adopted and listen to their ideas and proposals to continue advancing in the Plan of Contingency in order to save lives along with saving jobs and businesses.

" The Ministry has presented Morales with all the aid that the regional government has launched and which municipalities can access to overcome the negative economic consequences caused by the Covid-19 health crisis.

In addition, the evolution of economic indicators has been reviewed, as well as the measures adopted by the Government of Spain and that of the Region of Murcia to support companies.

In this sense, the counselor has specified that "of the 17.6 million euros in aid that the Info has made available to companies since April (some calls will be published in the coming weeks), 8'1 million are directed to reinforce the fight against coronavirus in the business sector ". For his part, the deputy mayor, Francisco Morales, has stated that "Lorca companies, like those of the entire Region, are facing great challenges derived from the current uncertainty marked by the pandemic, whose evolution is uncertain and affects consumption and productivity.

However, we want all our freelancers, merchants, hoteliers, entrepreneurs and businessmen to know that they have the municipal and regional governments on their side working together and in coordination to help them get out of this health and economic crisis.

We are working intensely in it and together we will achieve it as soon as possible ".
