The Councilor for Culture of the City Council of Lorca, María Ángeles Mazuecos, has reported the contracting of the conditioning works of the archaeological site of the Castle of Lorca, as approved in the Governing Board held this Friday, September 4, The Councilor for Culture explained that "these tasks, which include restoration work, signage and posters in the Archaeological Park of the Castle of Lorca, will be carried out through a grant from the Ministry of Tourism and Culture of the Autonomous Community." María Ángeles Mazuecos has specified that "this planned intervention aims to restore the elements of the historical heritage of the Archaeological Park, highlighting and consolidating the itineraries and introducing signs and posters that facilitate the visits of users of the Archaeological Park of the Castle of Lorca and at the same time your safety". Mazuecos Moreno has detailed that "the Archaeological Park presents most of its elements in the open, which causes it to be affected by the sun, air and rain, which have been eroding and deteriorating the remains.

In addition, the heavy rains of September 2012 flooded most of the Park and caused the dragging of contaminated land and waste.

The museum spaces (houses, streets) were affected and the decorative gravel beds that differentiate them were washed away at numerous points, leaving visible the elements that protect archaeological remains ". The mayor of Culture recalled that "this Castle Archaeological Park was created in 2009 due to the importance of the archaeological remains found on the occasion of the preventive archaeological excavations carried out on the occasion of the construction of the National Tourism Parador in the Castle of Lorca" . The municipal responsible for Culture has remarked that "it is a space prepared for the visit and where an interdisciplinary team of researchers coordinated by the Medieval History Area of ??the University of Murcia in collaboration with the City of Lorca, is carrying out a comprehensive archaeological study of the eastern sector of the Castle of Lorca, where the late medieval Jewish quarter is located, within the framework of a global project of excavation, consolidation, enhancement and adaptation for tourist use ". The visit is made through Lorca Taller del Tiempo based on a museum itinerary that shows the remains of greatest interest that have been exhumed, including the synagogue.
