IU-Verdes Lorca demands the reopening of peripheral clinics closed since March (10/09/2020)

The councilor of this training, Gloria Martín, has also warned of the suspension of the pediatric consultation in La Paca, which is added to those of Almendricos and La Hoya, and has once again insisted on the need to centralize care for patients affected by Covid-19 in independent points of the health centers so that they can regain their usual activity The councilor for Izquierda Unida-Verdes, Gloria Martín, today demanded the reopening of peripheral clinics in the municipality that have been closed since March. Martín explained that the users of El Consejero, Puente La Pía, Campo López, Morata, Aguaderas, Purias, La Hearing, La Campana and Marchena "have not yet recovered this essential service", although in some of them they have concluded municipal adaptation works due to Covid19. The pediatric consultations in La Hoya and Almendricos are also being suppressed, to which the La Paca health center has recently been added, whose users have been transferred to the San Diego health center, "without the neighbors having been informed of when they will recover this service ". Martín assured that pediatric consultations are "inalienable", especially in rural areas far from the urban center of Lorca, and even more so "with the imminent return to classrooms." In this regard, he regretted that the lack of foresight and increase in staff by the regional government is causing chaos in "practically all primary schools in the municipality." For Martín, "this is not solved with a friendly exchange of letters between the City Council and those responsible for the Murcian Health Service".

Much less when in its letters, the municipal government team justifies the interruption of an essential service "due to the difficulties of the dates in which we find ourselves." "We do not need a comprehensive City Council with the chaotic health management of the regional government of PP and C's, but strongly vindictive regarding the rights of Lorca, whose interests they represent," although for that, "some have to put themselves in front of regional leaders of his own party.

" "That is the only political unit that is worth to us,the one that puts the needs of our neighbors before any other circumstance, "assured Martín." As long as this is not the case, we will continue by the side of our people, even if we have to defend it alone, "he concluded. Regarding the announcement made yesterday by the mayor of Lorca, Diego José Mateos, about the transfer of the covid point from the San Diego health center to the Huerto de la Rueda, thanks to the "neighborhood clamor" and "to the pressure exerted by Izquierda Unida- Greens ", Martín has asked that the claims of the users of Campillo's office be also addressed.

The mayor recalled that her municipal group took to the plenary session in July a motion endorsed by the Federation of Associations of Neighbors of Lorca in which the transfer of this other covid point to municipal offices without use was requested, so that the residents of this district "they can recover the use of their health center of reference." A motion that was not approved by the sum of the votes against the councilors of PP, VOX and C's,to whom Martín has reproached his "clamorous silence" in defending the quality Primary Care that Lorca deserve for not antagonizing "their leaders in Murcia." Regarding this issue, Martín has once again insisted on the need to centralize covid care in facilities independent of health centers, so that they can regain their usual activity.

He has reported that along with those of San Diego, Lorca Centro and Lorca Sur, that of Sutullena has also already passed a code red, which makes health care difficult for patients who are not affected by coronavirus but who also need to be seen by your family doctors.
