| This health facility would serve to decongest the Rafael Méndez university hospital, offer a better response to the coronavirus, a better health service to all Lorca | The Councilor for Health in the city of Lorca for the Popular Party, Mayte Martínez, has proposed that the municipal council proceed to the conditioning and preparation of municipal facilities in which it can proceed to the implementation of a field hospital, an infrastructure that contributes to stop the contagion of Covid-19 among the population of the urban area of ??our municipality.

We are talking about a proposal that we put on the table to anticipate the needs that may arise in Lorca, taking into account the situation we are going through, and which has resulted in the first consequence of the regression to Phase 1 of the city.Mayte Martínez explained that this type of field hospitals can serve as support to decongest the overexertion suffered by health professionals who work in our regional hospital.

We consider it necessary that we Lorca have the necessary foresight to respond to any type of eventuality that may appear, and the possibility of setting up a hospital of these characteristics has to be considered.It is about having everything ready for it, taking into account that we are not only talking about an open space, but about municipal facilities and infrastructures that can be used for the health field.

All the resources that we put in place to combat Covid-19 are necessary, and the implementation of facilities such as those that a field hospital can offer us will be welcome, since it constitutes a very valuable tool to help stop the pandemic.

In this way we would reduce the healthcare pressure that is already being suffered at the Rafael Méndez hospital and we would reinforce the resources in this regard with which care is given to Lorca.From the PP we also propose that all the different public administrations finalize the measures already planned aimed at enabling private hotel facilities to enable compliance with quarantines for those citizens deemed necessary by the relevant authorities, as well as to facilitate the rest of our healthcare professionals.

It is an option that we believe has to be prepared for its implementation at the precise moment, and for which we have to show our congratulations and support to the entrepreneurs who have made it possible.As our president Fulgencio Gil has already announced, the Popular Party of Lorca, as the winning political group in the municipal elections, will carry out its work by focusing on proposing constructive measures from the town hall.

We have done this by proposing the transfer of the Covid point to the Ifelor facilities (more comfortable, safe and better equipped), with the start-up of a local team of trackers, and with the preparation of a battery of financial aid for merchants, hoteliers and freelancers.
