Fulgencio Gil proposes to the regional government that the families of San Fernando with recognized moral rights have access to the autonomously owned homes that CARM owns in this neighborhood (21/09/2020)

The receptivity of the regional administration in this regard is total, and it has already demanded that the city council transfer the social reports of these people to speed up the procedure.

"We are going to solve what others have neither known nor wanted" The spokesperson for the Popular Party in the Lorca city council, Fulgencio Gil, together with the popular councilor for Social Welfare, Mayte Martínez, reported this morning that the Popular Party has officially proposed to the Ministry of Development that families with recognized moral rights to A home in the San Fernando neighborhood have the opportunity to access one of the homes that the Autonomous Community has in this location, a measure to which the regional government of the PP has already responded favorably, demonstrating their total willingness to take it out and start the procedure.

In fact, we can also announce that the Ministry of Development has already activated the necessary procedures to articulate this solution, demanding that the city council transfer the social reports of these families,an essential documentation to complete the process. Fulgencio Gil explained that the Popular Party has not looked the other way, nor has it turned its back on these people, as others have done, we have found a solution and we are going to move forward until it becomes a reality.

These families are suffering a real ordeal due to the total lack of solutions by the current local government, which has not been sensitive to the problems of these families and did not even have the deference to meet with them for months, until the victims themselves denounced publicly that they did not attend to them in spite of the continuous requests to the effect that they transferred to the current mayor. It is not about "giving away" homes, as Mr.

Mateos so unfortunately stated, it is about managing and solving problems, because these families, logically, promised from the first moment to pay for their flats, not to have them "given away" to them.

, as the current mayor claimed.

They have done nothing, just wasting time.

We have been with these people from the first moment because we shared their concerns and we wanted them to return to their homes.

The response they have received from the local government is not fair, because they have been mistreated instead of articulating the mechanisms and solutions they deserve. We believe that this solution would be the best for everyone, and we would settle the problem that others, due to inability or indolence, have not wanted to seriously address.

The current local government, failed and inoperative, is delaying the processing of everything that has to do with this neighborhood.

He has made us lose months and months wondering if he kept the houses that the regional government owns in this neighborhood, and, after so long, now we have news that they are being rejected.

One more example that this local government does not know how to manage and is unable to solve municipal affairs. From this very moment we will be especially vigilant so that the local government quickly sends the requested documentation and we can respond to the problem of these families with the agility that, at this point, they deserve.

We will not accept any more excuses, no more off-key statements, no more delays.

Turn in those papers now. The Nuevo Barrio de San Fernando already has many families that inhabit it, who have recovered their homes, but there are 8 others who have been recognized the moral right to return to their apartment, so the City Council has them To help.

Each one of them presents a complex, particular and complicated case, having as a common denominator the fact that they lived in the neighborhood for more than 30 years, maintaining a good coexistence with their neighbors, and that as a result of the earthquake they have been problems of "paperwork "Those who are making it difficult for them to return to their homes. The PP has agreed on this measure with the community of owners of the Nuevo Barrio de San Fernando, which has shown its unwavering support for the return of families.

In fact, they consider that they should have already been able to return to their "lifelong" neighbors, instead of the floors remaining empty. The mayor of the PSOE has everything stopped also in relation to the adjudication of the rest of municipal housing.

We must remember that the Consistory today maintains a total of 59 flats owned in this neighborhood, all of them closed and with no one residing in them.

Due to their lack of work, the municipal flats are still wasted.

We continue to demand that the opinion of the neighbors be an indispensable condition when drafting, developing and handing over the homes to the beneficiary families.

It is a measure of pure "common sense", since the main supporters of the reconstruction of the neighborhood deserve that their voice has specific weight when establishing what to do with these buildings. What is clear is that the opportunity for rebirth that San Fernando has after the earthquakes cannot be truncated by repeating errors and erratic models of other times, much less doing it against the opinion of the neighbors. The reality is that the city council now has more money than ever, but instead of using it on what is important, they are spending it, for example, on buying cars for 800,000 euros, and thankfully thanks to the pressure exerted by the Popular Party , we have prevented Mr.

Mateos from sending 6.5 million euros of our tax money to Pedro Sánchez.
