The PP proposes to adapt two roads between the roads of the reservoir and La Parroquia through the riverbed, following the successful model of the La Velica pass (22/09/2020)

Mari Huertas García: "We consider that when a model works, we have to promote it, learning from well-done actions that offer a social return as clear as this case."The Councilor for Citizen Participation in the city of Lorca for the Popular Party, Mari Huertas García, explained that the adaptation of the road surface that connects La Velica with the Pantano road (C-15), a work carried out by the Popular Party , constitutes a model of efficacy and utility whose effectiveness is being clearly corroborated with the passage of time.

We are talking about an action that has been working for years, due to the administrative slowness of the Segura Hydrographic Confederation, which delayed the work due to its delay in granting the corresponding authorizations.Given the high number of vehicles that use it daily, the adaptation of this road has been a success, and it has been confirmed as a model to be imitated, also supported by the opinion of the residents of the area and the drivers of vehicles that use it.

We must also point out that this road has contributed to making traffic more fluid and avoiding crowds on other nearby roads.From the Popular Party we propose that the improvement intervention developed in the passage through the river bed in the La Velica area, can also be carried out in the existing fords under the highway viaduct, which connects the La Parroquia road with that of the Puentes reservoir, and the road between Escaranbrujo and the C-15.

We are talking in both cases of roads that meet a dirt road that is in an advanced state of wear, with potholes and holes that aggravate traffic insecurity.We believe that when a model works, we have to promote it, learning from actions well done and that offer a social return as clear as this case.

The objective of this proposal, which will be raised to the plenary session next Monday through a motion, is to help respond to the request to this effect that the residents of this area have transferred to us.

For this we propose that these paths be adapted, following the line of what was executed in the La Velica pass.

The aforementioned fords through the bed of the Guadalentín in the vicinity of El Escaranbrujo and the Viaduct of the A-7, have a length of less than 300 and 200 meters respectively, which would be properly conditioned and provided with a concrete surfaceWe are committed to improving the conditions of these roads by increasing traffic safety, especially in the event of heavy rains, respecting the idiosyncrasy of the place, given its particular location on the river bed.The works that we propose, in this sense, would include the improvement of the pavement, which would have a width of 5 meters, proceeding with its concreting and signaling, mainly by applying a concrete slab that would act as a firm.

It is a material that is considerably harder and more resistant to flooding.With this investment that we demand to be undertaken by the city council, we would respond to the demands of many Lorca residents, especially the residents of the Rio and Parrilla councils, at the same time that we increase security in this step that will allow to decongest traffic in the neighborhood from San Cristóbal, Puente Viejo and in the vicinity of the historic case.We must bear in mind that it is a route used daily by many drivers, despite having an uneven and dirt road, with the danger that this implies and what it means in terms of the removal of dust and stones.The proposal that we put on the table by the PP also includes the adaptation with the same characteristics of the road on the bed of the river existing in La Parroquia.

We are talking about a request that neighbors have also sent us, who suffer this physical barrier due to the passage that crosses the Vélez River, which acts as the border between the districts of La Tova and Ortillo.

Moreover, within the rural nucleus of La Parroquia there are houses that, being only a few meters from it, come across this barrier and have to cross it several times a day to have access to such basic services as the health center or shops.

.The latter are shared with districts such as those of Jarales and Ortillo, which have to access these services in the district of La Tova by accessing the aforementioned passage over the river and that many of the residents of the Parish also pass through this passage over the river.

It is clear that this amount of 120,000 euros is not a high effort, since, for example, the mayor of the Socialists is going to spend 800,000 euros of our taxes on buying cars.
