| "an unnecessary and very unfair gesture" | This decision is a serious error and a disregard, since it was the Popular Party that proposed on August 5 in the Board of Spokespersons of the city council that the Covid Point be located in Ifelor, but the current local government opposed it.
In this way, institutional loyalty within the municipal corporation has not been respected. The Councilor for Health in the city of Lorca for the Popular Party, Mayte Martínez, regretted that the current local government has not made the members of the municipal corporation participate in the institutional visit that took place this morning to the new Covid Point, that as proposed by the PP, it will be located in Ifelor. We consider that this exclusion constitutes a profound offense, and was not, at all, necessary, since it responds to the initiative that we officially proposed on August 5, and that was met with the reluctance and rejection of the current local government.
It is not acceptable that they have tried to "remove us from the photo." It has been an unfair gesture, of inconsideration and discourtesy, which disrespects our political background, and which does not live up to the traditional norms of courtesy that must exist within the corporation. This decision breaks the necessary loyalty, excluding the rest of the municipal groups from an institutional act, and trying to attribute other people's merits.
In any case, presenting the work of others as one's own is not what is expected of someone who should represent all citizens. While the Popular Party is working positively for all Lorca, and focused on putting on the table constructive proposals that help slow the advance of the pandemic and cushion its effects on the social, economic and labor levels, others only look for the photo and appropriate the work of others.
