The mayor of Lorca supervises together with the management of Health Area 3 the adequacy of IFELOR to host the Covid sample collection point (23/09/2020)

The City Council has made an investment of close to 10,000 euros for the installation of the booths, signage and posters, as well as portable toilets, with the main objective of "centralizing work in this location and decongesting the health centers of San Diego and Campillo ". The mayor of Lorca, Diego José Mateos, has supervised, this morning, together with the Councilor for Health, José Ángel Ponce, and the manager of Health Area 3 and the Rafael Méndez de Lorca hospital, Enrique Casado, the adaptation work of one of the Ifelor pavilions for the installation of a new COVID sampling point with capacity for two sanitary teams. The mayor of Lorca recalled that a few weeks ago we reached the conclusion with the management of Health area 3 of the need to centralize the taking of Covid samples, removing it from the Health centers of San Diego and Campillo, and centralizing at a single point ". Diego José Mateos explained that "for this, the City Council has made available both the infrastructure such as the pavilion, the modules, the booths, the signage and posters, internet access points, as well as the portable toilets, in an investment which we understand is very necessary, to decongest the other sampling points that were having more complaints, as is the case of San Diego.

" Mateos Molina has specified that "the investment is around 10,000 euros, which may be expanded, depending on the days that may be needed, and whose capacity reaches 400 daily PCR tests, in addition to the fact that these facilities allow us to expansion if necessary to provide a better service and expand the number of tests ". The Mayor has pointed out that "the only thing left is that the Murcian Health Service and Health Area 3, once they have the facilities, make the transfer of professionals who already have four computer points, so that as soon as possible , the residents of Lorca, can travel to this point to undergo these Covid detection tests ". Mateos added that "an exclusive car park reserved for people who come to take the tests has also been set up, and from the Consistory we will continue to make all our resources available at the service of the health authority, the Health Council of the Region of Murcia, in that desire for collaboration to fight together against this pandemic ". Finally, Diego José Mateos reiterated that "it is still too early to evaluate the confinement data, and at the beginning of next week an evaluation of the situation will be carried out." He has again called for responsibility "to all citizens since we all have in our hands the possibility of cutting the chain of infections, respecting safety measures with hand washing, the use of a mask and social and physical distance."
