The leader of the Popular Party has managed to get the city council to mediate with the electricity companies to make payments and debts more flexible, a measure that has been implemented directly in Aguas de Lorca for the payment of their bills.Fulgencio Gil shows his full support for the legitimate claims transferred by the Lorca Self-Employed Platform (PLAU) that this morning has gathered at the doors of the Local Development Center (CDL) to demand solutions.The spokesman for the Popular Party in the city of Lorca, Fulgencio Gil, has reported that the municipal council, at the proposal of the PP, is going to request the Autonomous Community to both within the Reactive Plan and other aid plans put in place for promote the commercial, hospitality sector and SMEs against Covid-19, priority is given to requests that come from municipalities in which Phase 1 has been decreed.

Such is the case of our city, for which we demand that consideration be given in particular with these professional groups for the receipt of subsidies, preferential loans and other aids provided by said plan, increasing their endowment if necessary, so that they can meet the current costs of operating the activity.Fulgencio Gil explained that the proposal line of the Popular Party to combat the health, economic, social and labor crisis caused by Covid-19, also contemplates that the city council establish a mediation with the electricity companies for the flexibility, suspension or fractionation of electricity bill payments by merchants, hoteliers or SMEs affected by the current crisis, as well as the urgent establishment of a Personalized Payment Plan for merchants, hoteliers and SMEs that need it through the company Aguas de Lorca.

A measure that has also managed to obtain the unanimous support of all the political parties with representation in our city council.These measures are in addition to the launch of a new line of aid of up to 2,000 euros that the Popular Party has also managed to carry out with the support of all political parties, and which will be aimed at hoteliers, merchants and freelancers who have suffered falls greater than 40% in their respective businesses due to the Covid crisis.

These are economic incentives with a direct and complementary nature to those that can be implemented by the rest of the public administrations.

Ultimately, it is about implementing the model that we already requested in May within the LORCA RESPONDE PLAN, but that the current local government rejected, betting on a system of "alms and tips" that has failed.In recent days, and with the aim of contributing to the fight against the Covid crisis, from the PP we have proposed and managed to transfer the Covid Point to Ifelor, constitute a municipal group of trackers, prepare municipal facilities for the possible implantation of a hospital campaign to support Rafael Méndez, and the reinforcement of controls on the collective transport of workers.

We have to regret that our loyal and purposeful attitude is not being reciprocated by the current mayor, who has chosen to exclude us from institutional visits to the Covid point and the group of trackers, before which we have to remind him that "loyalty, with loyalty is paid ".From the PP it has been achieved that the city council formally requests the government of Spain to extend the ERTE, as demanded by the sector, at least until April 2021, and that the reduction of the VAT of the hospitality industry to 4% is applied, following the positive experience that has been applied in several European countries.We also propose that an immediate shock measure be made effective so that the city's hoteliers can double their terraces, and that the technical services study the possibility of allowing the installation of candles for all those hoteliers who do not have terrace service, yes, always trying to reconcile the hotel business with the respect and relaxation of the neighbors.Next step: general tax reduction in tax ordinances.Fulgencio Gil has anticipated that, from the PP we are going to demand as an indispensable condition for next year the establishment of reductions in local taxes and municipal rates, both for these groups affected by the fall in their sales and for all citizens in general, given that the city council now has more money than ever: 6.5 million euros in savings and 12 in treasury.
