Diego José Mateos has highlighted that "this motion has had the support of all municipal groups and approved unanimously, since each of the political parties has made their contributions making an effort to reach this agreement with various measures, both local, that we are the ones with the least capacity, as regional and state, to alleviate the situation of our merchants, hoteliers, freelancers and SMEs ". Mateos Molina has pointed out that "the solution is not the aid either from the City Council, or from the Autonomous Community, or the central government, the lowering of taxes would be a temporary relief, but what this sector needs are customers and people in the streets, and for this we need the health situation to improve, for which we have to continue making an effort to comply with the restrictive measures ". The deputy mayor, Francisco Morales, has been convinced that "when the epidemiological situation begins to improve, people will go out to the streets and consume again, but we also want to boost the economic activity of businesses and hospitality establishments from the City Council through a promotional campaign to support these sectors that we already have prepared to convey that they are safe activities and that we must support them through our consumption ". Morales has detailed some of the measures included in this motion, such as urging the regional government to give priority to the requests that come from the municipalities in which Phase 1 has been decreed within the Reactive Plan launched; that efforts be redoubled so that hoteliers can double the surface of their terraces and that the possibility of allowing the installation of candleholders for all those hoteliers who do not have terrace service be studied; that the central government be urged to prepare a Support Plan for the Hospitality, Commerce and Nightlife sector; that the City Council, through the Department of Commerce, mediates with Iberdola for the flexibility, suspension or fractioning of the payments of the electricity bills by the merchants, hoteliers or SMEs affected by the current health crisis; that the corresponding local and regional regulations be studied to allow the granting of extraordinary and temporary licenses as a bar or cafeteria to nightlife venues with the aim that these entrepreneurs can carry out their activity in these exceptional circumstances under the protection of a double license;that on the part of the municipal economic services and counting on the remnants of the million euros that was mobilized for this type of aid, a new line of direct subsidies of up to 2,000 euros be designed for those businesses, hoteliers and SMEs that have seen their income reduced in sales 40% in recent months ". Finally, the Mayor, Diego José Mateos, recalled that "as we did last week, we will be alongside those who are experiencing the worst, but always paying attention to the health situation and the rules set by the competent health authorities" .
