The Department of Parks and Gardens reinforces the work for the maintenance of the different green areas of the municipality (04/10/2020)

The mayor Antonio Navarro has detailed that "these works are being completed with the street cleaning for the removal of weeds from the sidewalks and streets, as well as with the Christmas flower production campaign in which work is being carried out in the municipal nurseries of La Torrecilla ". The Councilor for Parks and Gardens of the City of Lorca, Antonio Navarro, has detailed some of the actions that are being carried out from this management area. The mayor of Parks and Gardens has specified that "we are meeting the demands of citizens to improve those areas that need it most, some work that is being carried out with exemplary agility and professionalism.

Among these actions, street cleaning is being carried out for the adaptation of streets and sidewalks, where we are removing the undergrowth that has grown, making the transit of both pedestrians and vehicles difficult, in addition to aesthetically damaging the image of those areas of the city ". Antonio Navarro stressed that "a great effort is being made to maintain our parks and gardens in the best possible conditions, with daily maintenance, and different types of seasonal flowers have been planted in the green areas of the municipality, during these months, specifically, some 4,000 specimens of petunias, as well as 2,000 tagetes, a plant that is also known as carnation, and 1,000 specimens of cyclamen to complement the decoration with poinsettias at Christmas, a campaign that is being worked on for months in the municipal nurseries of La Torrecilla with the production of different varieties of Poinsettia, known as the traditional poinsettia, 4,500 red, 500 white and 500 pink ". Navarro Pérez recalled that "these works, carried out by the staff of Parks and Gardens, are being developed in accordance with all the security measures established due to the health crisis caused by the coronavirus." Finally, the Councilor for Parks and Gardens thanked "the workers of the Department and the service concessionaire for their work, as well as an appeal to the public" to keep these areas clean by making use of the bins and containers.
