The mayor of Lorca has detailed “they have informed us that they had put on the table the possibility that today the urban area of ??the municipality was disconfined due to the good data we were obtaining but it has been truncated by this outbreak that has arisen in the Hospital Virgen del Alcázar "The Mayor of Lorca, Diego José Mateos, and the Councilor for Health, José Ángel Ponce, have reported the decision of the Ministry of Health of the Region of Murcia to extend one more week the confinement in Phase 1 made more flexible in the urban area of Lorca.Mateos explained that "in the meeting held this morning in the Ministry of Health we have expressed the decision to extend one more week the confinement in Phase 1 made more flexible in the urban area of ??Lorca"."They have shown us that the confinement is having an effect because in this third week we had gone from 1,100 active cases to 790 and a decrease in the daily average of positives by Covid that during the first week of confinement amounted to 75/80 cases a day to place us during this last week around 45/50 positive cases daily ”.The Mayor has detailed that “from the Ministry they have informed us that they had put on the table the possibility that today the urban area of ??the municipality would be disconfined due to the good data we were obtaining but it has been truncated by this outbreak that it has arisen in the Virgen del Alcázar Hospital to which today we estimate the number of affected people at 63, between patients and workers, according to the latest data update communicated by the center ”.“A possible increase in the number of cases is being considered, due to the network of working personnel of the center as well as the caregivers, relatives and visitors of those patients who have tested positive for Covid, which is why the Ministry of Health has decided to extend one more week this Phase 1 made more flexible the confinement of the urban center of our municipality ”.Mateos Molina has specified that “the Ministry has promised that in the next few days it will proceed to study and monitor the situation regarding this outbreak and it is expected that this Thursday an evaluation of the epidemiological situation of both the Hospital outbreak will be carried out.
