The Local Police of Lorca filed 250 complaints last week for non-compliance with sanitary measures (06/10/2020)

The Councilor for Citizen Security, José Luis Ruiz Guillén, has detailed that "of the total sanctions, 172 correspond to the weekend, among which 81 stand out for not using the mask or doing it incorrectly, 27 for non-compliance with the number of occupants in vehicles and 26 for not respecting traffic restrictions in the urban area ". The Councilor for Citizen Security of the City of Lorca, José Luis Ruiz Guillén, has taken stock, this morning, of the actions carried out, during this past week, related to the breach of health measures to prevent the spread of Covid 19. The mayor of Citizen Security has detailed that this past week, between September 28 and October 4, a total of 250 sanctions have been filed, of which the 138 for non-compliance with the use of the mask or wearing it incorrectly; 36 for non-compliance with the number of occupants in vehicles; 24 for not respecting the traffic restrictions in the urban area; 22 complaints about the protection of citizen security; 11 for violation of the Citizen Coexistence Ordinance; 8 for not respecting the capacity of premises, allowing consumption at the bar and not complying with closing hours; 8 for meetings of more than six people; two for smoking on public roads without respecting the minimum distance of two meters, and one for breaching the quarantine period. José Luis Ruiz Guillén added that "also during the past week a total of 103 controls were carried out; 530 people have been identified and 1,463 vehicles have been controlled." Regarding the sanctions that correspond to last weekend, Ruiz Guillén explained that a total of 44 controls have been carried out between 2 and 4 October, 289 people and 856 vehicles have been identified.

In addition, a total of 172 complaints have been filed, of which 81 are due to the non-use or incorrect use of the mandatory mask; 27 for non-compliance with the number of occupants in vehicles; 26 complaints for not respecting traffic restrictions in the urban area; 18 complaints about the protection of citizen security; 10 for violation of the Citizen Coexistence Ordinance; as well as eight other complaints for meetings of more than 6 people; one for breach of the quarantine period; another for breach of capacity in premises, allowing drinks in the neighborhood and not respecting closing hours. Ruiz Guillén stressed that "the average number of sanctions is maintained with respect to those carried out last week (232), although what we cannot forget is that the intensity of police controls is maintained to guarantee compliance with said sanitary measures, with those that manage to bend the curve of infections by coronavirus in our municipality.In addition, in relation to the complaints made during previous weeks, a decrease has been noted, thanks, above all, to the pedagogical work we are doing to raise awareness among the population that We cannot destroy all the efforts made so far and we cannot destroy due to the irresponsibility of a small group of non-compliant citizens.

" Finally, the Councilor for Citizen Security has reiterated that "in addition to all the actions related to the coronavirus, the Local Police of Lorca continues to attend to ordinary questions that have resulted this past week in the arrest of 15 people and up to a total of 21 complaints sent to the Provincial Traffic Headquarters, related to traffic infractions.

A commendable work of the agents for the correct fulfillment of all the sanitary norms and to preserve the safety of our neighbors that I want to highlight once again ".
