The PP proposes the gradual implementation of a cycle of safe and respectful outdoor socio-cultural activities with the regulations against Covid-19 (15/10/2020)

| Francisco Javier Martínez: "Lorca is an open stage, with safe spaces where you can carry out controlled capacity initiatives, as is already being done in many cities |  We cannot completely zero cultural activity " The Councilor for Culture in the city of Lorca for the Popular Party, Francisco Javier Martínez, has proposed the progressive implementation in our municipality of a new model of safe and responsible socio-cultural activities against the Covid.

We are talking about incorporating in our city what is already being done successfully in other municipalities, of making sociocultural activity compatible with the conditions imposed by this pandemic.

It is clear that the conditions we have had over the last few weeks greatly limited this type of initiative, but once the situation is changing, it is necessary to offer citizens, especially the smallest of the house , outdoor activities. We must point out that, according to the experts, the child and youth population in a particular way, but ultimately all in a general way, need to go outdoors as an essential factor of mental health.

The situation caused by the Covid is going on for a long time, we must rethink the actions of leisure, culture and society, but not for this reason stop doing them in a radical way.

We must promote the cultural offer in the open air to re-incentivize the social life of Lorca, and we must do it with ingenious and attractive ideas that do not conflict with the restrictions against the coronavirus.

We cannot completely zero cultural activity because human beings need to express themselves through art, music, painting, or any other artistic discipline.

Culture is life, and now more than ever we need to feel alive. The reality is that the new stage that we are living conditioned by the Covid forces us to adapt to the circumstances, demanding, for example, to enable socio-cultural alternatives in the open air, not in closed spaces where we know the risk that would exist.

For this reason, Lorca offers us an advantage, thanks to the fact that our municipality has a multitude of possibilities due to its monumental nature.

Lorca is an open stage, and now we can take advantage of this reality to offer people safe and responsible alternatives. Autumn is coming and we must activate a cultural agenda according to the relevance that a monumental city such as Lorca has to offer.

To speak of culture is to speak of activating the life of our streets, squares and avenues, an initiative that sets in motion synergies with a direct and positive impact on the hospitality and commerce sectors of our municipality. Francisco Javier Martínez explained that since the main cultural scene of our municipality, the Guerra Theater, is closed by decision of the current local government, and that in our city we have 350 days of sunshine a year and an average annual temperature of 20 degrees From the Popular group we propose that outdoor theater plays be held every Sunday morning, both with our actors from the Guerra theater company, who are short of both work and income to be able to make ends meet, as with national companies, which I assure you would be delighted to work outdoors. We have Alamedas that, without a doubt, are the best urban gardens in the region, where different types of puppet shows, marionettes, children's performances can be held ...

to entertain the little ones in the house, who are now somewhat off site due to the change in context they are experiencing in their educational activity.

Respecting the current measures at all times, they should not stop going out and enjoying the green lung of our city. The avenues offer their own infrastructure that allows these events to be held, such as the Plaza Mayor Pérez-Chuecos, which has an elevated stage to carry out these initiatives outdoors and with enough space to do it safely.

. Among the activities that could be developed from now on in the morning and progressively, taking advantage of our good weather even at this time of year, we propose Yoga and Pilates sessions on weekends and holidays in La Merced (prior registration) , as well as concerts with local artists in a reduced format in the city squares (La Viña, San José, Calderón de la Barca, Pueblo Saharaui… to recover a certain cultural and social pulse by livening up our streets while respecting security measures. Francisco Javier Martínez has indicated that the PP is also committed to closing some streets to traffic during weekend mornings, enabling a circuit of bicycles and skates, so that especially the smallest of the house have the opportunity to go out to the street avoiding the usual traffic of vehicles.

This measure has already been put into practice in numerous cities in our country with good results and without generating problems.

In this way, a new model of sociocultural leisure is consolidated that is respectful of the rules and safe against Covid. .Other initiatives in the same vein are the holding of street painting contests, urban and monumental photography, as well as many other activities that can encourage Lorca to go out onto our streets.
