These days, since last September 15, when the confinement of the urban area of ??our city was decreed, sitting down and talking with one or more hospitality professionals, serves to highlight two things, on the one hand, the terrible reality that, like many other areas, suffer in this important sector and, on the other hand, the worrying laziness that local and regional administrations show in their management work to propose effective solutions to the serious difficulties that the current situation of health crisis has generated . It should be noted that together with commerce, companies dedicated to the service of food and beverages generated almost half of all the Temporary Employment Regulation Files (ERTE) processed in the Region of Murcia.

Data that shows the relevance in the economy and in the regional employment of the restaurant sector, without being Lorca an exception. From the municipal corporation, various measures have been announced to be implemented to alleviate the harmful effects of the health crisis, a clear example, the approval, by the Municipal Plenary, of aid of up to € 500 and € 350 for companies and the self-employed, which would be to mobilize up to 1 million euros, all of this published last May.

In the middle of October, little is known about these aids after having been requested in a timely manner at the time by the self-employed to whom they were addressed.

It would be interesting to know the number of files processed, authorized and actually paid.

It is also curious to review the published bases in which those requirements and documentation to be submitted to request the aforementioned aid are collected, since the drama of complying with the established requirements is not enough,but also that the amount that is approved cannot be used to defray urgent expenses that need to be attended by the applicant, they must be destined to the payment for any of the different services that the City Council provides, understood local rates, with which all It remains, sorry, everything will remain at home the moment our Local Corporation decides, after more than 4 months, to make them effective. It cannot be ignored that the spectrum of those affected extends beyond the self-employed and SMEs since the owners of the premises that receive an income by subletting have to face the reality that the self-employed person who carries out their activity is not being able to generate, in a way temporary, sufficient resources to meet the total expenses.

From the obligatory negotiation between landlord and tenant on the possibility of temporarily lowering the amount of the rent, a solution for those owners who can afford to help with the reduction or cancellation of part of it, would be that, from the City Council, it would be subsidized a percentage of the Real Estate Tax (IBI) the following year, after accreditation of the income not received.

The described proposal is not new, nor is it proposed by Somos Lorca Somos Región,It is a proposal from the self-employed themselves that has already been collected by some of the groups that are part of the Municipal Corporation and that has not even been addressed, despite the number of self-employed and owners who could benefit from the exceptional situation in which we live.

. That the current scenario of health and economic crisis is not easy to manage is obvious that should not serve as an excuse for not fulfilling the mandate that the people of Lorca gave the current government team at the polls, to work and defend the interests of their neighbors .

We believe that there is no better way to carry out its mission than by listening and attending to the real needs of the sectors that make up our society.

We believe that both the political groups that bear the responsibility of government in our city, as well as those who carry out the work of the opposition, should improve the ability to listen, seriously, and address, effectively, those proposals of those who suffer in the first person consequences derived, to a large extent, from the health crisis.It is in difficult moments when greater proximity must be had, than not to appear, with those who are having the worst.

In addition to announcing measures, we ask those responsible for municipal management to also worry about implementing them with agility and efficiency so that they become a reality when they are needed, now.
