The City Council of Lorca commemorates the V edition of the Writers' Day with the reading of verses by four Lorca poets (21/10/2020)

This activity, organized through the Pilar Barnés Municipal Library, will take place tomorrow, Thursday, October 22, in Plaza Real, starting at 6 p.m., where chairs will be placed in the open air, respecting social distance at all times.

The Councilor for Libraries of Lorca, Antonia Pérez, has informed that the City Council will join, through the Pilar Barnés Municipal Library, to the celebration of the V edition of Writers' Day, an initiative organized by the National Library of Spain in collaboration with the Spanish Federation of Women Managers, Executives, Professionals and Entrepreneurs (FEDEPE) and with the Classic and Modern Association. The mayor of Libraries has indicated that "the objective is to spread the cultural legacy of Hispanic and Latin American writers throughout history and to remember the difficulties they face, highlighting the value of their works.

This fifth edition has the curated by the writer Elvira Lindo, who has chosen the motto 'The daily effort of women'. Antonia Pérez explained that "for this celebration in our municipality the reading of poems by four Lorca poets who have wanted to generously collaborate with the Municipal Library, reading their own verses and others from the writers selected by the National Library of Spain is planned in this edition.

This activity will take place tomorrow, Thursday, October 22, in Plaza Real, next to the Pilar Barnés Public Library, starting at 6:00 p.m., where the library will place a number in the open-air plaza of chairs that will respect social distance at all times ". In this case, Pérez Segura has detailed that "we will be able to enjoy the poetry and voice of Inma Pelegrín, born in Lorca in 1969, she received the Gerardo Diego International Poetry Prize in 2007 with her collection of poems 'Oxide', published in Pre-Textos She has published 'Dirty rags' in the Tres Fronteras publishing house in 2008; she has received the XXXII Juan Ramón Jiménez Ibero-American Poetry Prize for 'A Question of Hours', published in La isla de Siltolá in 2012.

Very recently, she has been awarded the XXIV 'Antonio Machado International Poetry Prize', awarded by the Baeza City Council, with his collection of poems 'All directions' that we will be able to enjoy in a few weeks ". Also participating in this commemoration will be María Jesús Caro Porlán, founding member of Grupo Poético Espartaria.

A teacher by profession, she combines her teaching work with poetry.

In 2001 he published a collection of poems entitled 'Mirlos en la Nieve' and participated in 2015 in the work 'La Fuente de Plata', a poetic anthology that compiles poems by the members of this group.

Both works are edited by Espartaria in his 'Cuadernos de poesía'; also from Encarna Martínez Tafalla, Literature teacher and writer.

He is part of the Espartaria Poetic Group.

We can enjoy his poems in the work published in 2015, 'La Fuente de Plata', an anthology that compiles the poems of the members of Espartaria; Isabel García Amador, also a founding member of Grupo Poético Espartaria.

With a very prolific work he has edited 5 collections of poems: 'Esencia de luz' (1998); 'The silence of the smoke' (2002); 'Landscapes of a life' (1994); 'After the smoke' (2010), for which he received the VI Prize 'Águila de poesía' organized by the Aguilar de Campoo City Council; Y 'Exiles, encounters and other causes' (2017); in addition to participating in 'La Fuente de Plata', a poetic anthology published in 2015. Finally, the mayor of Libraries has encouraged to attend this activity, which we remember, has limited capacity and with which we want to vindicate the work and legacy of women writers throughout history, and also value the work of the writers of our land ".
