This initiative proposes hiking routes through different parts of the municipality, which families must complete to qualify for prizes.
The program aims to promote outdoor physical activity avoiding crowds of peopleThe Councilor for Sports, Irene Jódar, presented, this morning, the program organized by the Department of Sports of the Lorca City Council 'Senderos en Familia', whose objective is to promote outdoor sports in the family environment, thus avoiding crowds of people and complying with the security measures against COVID.The councilor for Sports has explained that "this initiative proposes five hiking routes, with an approximate length of between 5 and 7 km each, located within the municipality of Lorca.
It is estimated a time of completion not exceeding two hours and offer a circular route, the departure and arrival point coinciding.
The routes have a low difficulty and are especially aimed at families whose members are between 7 and 65 years old, although other personal factors should be taken into account, which may influence such as: state current physique, ailments, experience, use of baby carriers, etc.
"Likewise, Irene Jódar has highlighted that "although the technical difficulty is low, it is convenient to use the free application MAPS OF SPAIN (available on Google Play and Apple Store) to guarantee the follow-up of the route marked by the organization through mobile , and also to record each of the routes made and send them via WhatsApp to the Department of Sports, to make the appropriate checks.
This application facilitates the tracking of the route through the mobile GPS system, allowing even to download the map where we we are going to move to use it without an internet connection.
The proposed routes are very varied and are marked in different parts of the municipality, so that in addition to enjoying sports, they will allow us to get to know our municipality much better.

Rambla del Madroñal, in the Sierra de la Almenara.The Councilor for Sports has announced "that in addition to the physical and psychological benefits of this initiative, which are very important at the moment, we have also wanted to include prizes in order to encourage participation.
There will be 50 vouchers of 50 euros in sports equipment for the first families to complete at least 4 of the 5 routes within the established deadline, which is January 31.
So there is enough time to organize and carry out these attractive hiking routes through our beautiful places and roads.
"All the information necessary to participate and register can be found on the website of the Council (Deportes.lorca.es), where the bases of the program can be read carefully.
We remind the participants that they can share photos / videos on their social networks with the hashtag #SenderosEnFamiliaLorca, so that many more people can be encouraged, since the routes can be done at any time, with only limited time to qualify for the prizes.
