Antonia Pérez has recalled that "since 1997, every October 24 is commemorated the Day of Libraries.

The proposal comes from the Spanish Association of Friends of Children's and Youth Books, supported by the Ministry of Culture, in memory of the destruction of the Sarajevo Library, burned down in 1992 during the Balkan conflict ". Pérez Segura has detailed that "this year's edition is held under the slogan 'Libraries, always by your side', and is focused on highlighting the important role that libraries play by offering access to culture, knowledge and entertainment in any place and circumstance ". In addition, the City Council of Lorca has launched, among others, the project "We bring it to you", a collaborative initiative of the Mayor's Office, the Library and the Municipal Service of the ORA to take the readings home to all those who cannot go to the library.
