Pedro Mondéjar: "This is a Plan that we proposed in June, and that we were able to carry out with the support of municipal groups in the plenary session of the town hall in July, despite the immobility of the current mayor.

We demand that it be carried out and not waste any more time ".The Councilor for Education in the Lorca city council for the Popular Party, Pedro Mondéjar, has described as "inadmissible" that the current local government has barely complied with 25% of the School Contingency Plan that the PP managed to carry out last summer, despite to the obstacles and disqualifications received by the current local government.Pedro Mondéjar has indicated that we have to remember that four months ago from the PP we proposed that the city council implement a contingency plan especially focused on our schools.

The aim was to prepare a study to be used in a precise case and to collect the needs of each of the educational centers in the municipality.

It was a totally constructive proposal, with the aim of providing positive measures, but we find ourselves with the rejection of the current mayor, the same thing that happened to us when we have proposed other initiatives.As we saw that Mr.

Mateos made no progress in this matter, we took the initiative again and presented it to the plenary session of the city council in July, expanding the initial proposal with new measures, such as planning cleaning and prevention tasks of Health, in parallel with the development of information campaigns.

Finally, and given the incomprehensible disinterest that the current local government continued to show, we obtained the support of the municipal groups to approve this plan.The lack of interest of Mr.

Mateos continues to hold back the fulfillment of this plan, and despite the time that has elapsed, and the priority nature of measures to protect the educational community, we have to regret and denounce that the Contingency Plan is being almost completely breached .

In fact, of the six main measures contained in this document, some have not even been developed, and others have hardly been developed.We must clarify that all these measures are municipal responsibility and do not represent an extraordinary expense, in fact, the city council has received almost 160,000 additional euros from the regional government to reinforce the cleaning and disinfection of educational centers.

In any case, if necessary, the city council is in a position to allocate more economic resources, since today it has more money than ever (18.5 million between surplus and treasury), in addition to saving a huge amount for the cancellation of parties, cultural programs, courses for groups, Easter ...This contingency plan was approved to be fulfilled, not to remain a dead letter, so we demand that Mr.

Mateos work and develop it completely urgently, since it should not have led to this situation.

There are no excuses, because we are talking about actions that had to be already prepared and in progress, and not reach almost November without having moved.We demand that the agreement be fulfilled, neither more nor less, because the city council, as the administration closest to the citizen, has to set an example of operability, not of non-compliance.

We are going to work to force the city council to comply with what has been agreed.

They have shown no interest in doing their job.

We gave them the contingency plan and they haven't even been able to fulfill it.Exemplary response from the educational community.The Councilor for Education of the PP Lorca has thanked the exemplary work that is being developed by the educational community as a whole so that the children of our municipality have been able to resume their classes in a safe and orderly manner.

From the workers who are in charge of cleaning our educational centers, to the janitors, teachers and parents, each and every one of the members of this community has responded in an extraordinary way, in such a way that the uncertainty prior to returning to the classrooms has now been transformed into a cautious serenity.Our students deserve special mention, perhaps those who have best internalized the need to comply with the established measures, because they are offering a response of exemplary naturalness.

I have the opportunity to see how schoolchildren behave because of my work as a teacher, I assure you that I already wish that all citizens were as scrupulous in complying with security measures as children do.
